S-Line brakes are the same as non S-Line. So yes, they'll fit.

I believe Vita Roma is speaking of S4 brakes not S-Line.

i think the S4 has the same calipers, but with a different carrier to fit larger diameter discs

you can buy the caliper carriers, so i'm assuming you can fit them...

however, i'm not sure how much better they'll be - maybe a 6-pot setup would be a better bet?

I put the S4 front brakes on my A4 and love it, but it will still run you close to $600 for all of the parts.

Same calipers, larger rotors and different carriers. If you're going to upgrade, you may want to go with larger, aftermarket rotors. There are some nice, lightweight, slotted and/or drilled, floating rotors that you can buy over the OE S4s. I don't think there's a big advantage in getting the S4 rotors over the A4 rotors. What are you trying to achieve?

Re: S4 Brakes fit my A4??

I would agree that for light tracking a good set of DEDICATED hawk or carbotechs have fitments for our caliper and some good cheap fluid like Motul 5.1 at 6 bucks a bottle which has almost as high of wet and dry boiling point as their rbf660 at 20 bucks a bottle and not much worse than SRF at 70 bucks a bottle. If going to be tracking more oftent the cheap route is S4 rotors and carriers which is a sig larger disc which should reduce heat related fade. I'd stay away from the low budget 2 piece options like the ECS/Coleman Racing units as I have found them to fade faster then the stockers due to their largely increased air gap with no increase in rotor width while also having fewer cooling vanes. SS lines are not necessary but some people like them as a preference thing.

    cheers! mike

Sounds like you're not looking for performance per se, and if you're getting a good deal, it may be worth while. If it's going to cost you more than a couple of hundred to upgrade (including the cost of the larger carriers), I'd just stick with the A4 rotors.

I was looking at the ECS rotors. What are other better options in S4 size? I know Stasis and Brembo are probably good choices. Any experience with Stoptec rotors?

I think he's saying he got a good deal on them and wants to know if they will fit or not. The answer is yes as long as you also got the carriers.

I would go OEM S4 at $68 bucks a piece. They have a huge rotor area and a huge volume to them. They will resist heat great. Sure they're a little heavy but you just wont be able to measure much of a difference in acceleration/handling performance at our level of driving between an 18 lb rotor and a 24 lb rotor. You will be able to notice the poor quality braking of a poor 2-piece like the ECS/Coleman ones though. I burned up the brakes with those rotors very quickly. They have old school 32-vane cooling and huge air gaps with very thin rotor surface areas which spells disaster for tracking and heat dissipation. I boiled the fluid again and again and again.

    cheers! mike

Re: S4 Brakes fit my A4??

Thanks for the info Mike. ECS looks good on paper but I've heard several bad reviews about rotors warpping and their customer service.

This looks like an interesting cheap upgrade: http://audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=186185
