So my local performance shop told me about a free trial of the Revo software for my car. Its getting a timing belt put on so i have a few days to make my mind up. The software only lasts 5 hours then reverts back to stock. Whats your input on this software?

Renn-Art is one of our top dealers. What ever work they do for you over there, you will not be disappointed. If you have any questions about the trial let me know.

    Re: Revo software Free Trial

don't do it!! REVO leaves an encrypted code behind on your ECU which doesn't allow anyone besides REVO to go back in and program your ECU. Happened to me when i went to get my APR chip installed. Wound up having to get a new chip soldered to the motherboard instead of a simple flash because i had to try out the 5hr trial. Worst mistake i made with my S4, besides buying a tip, haha.

Interesting I sent my ECU with Revo on it to VAST and it came back fine...

I know. But with REVO i was spiking 20psi holdin 17,18 on k03s...maybe that caused them to blow...hmmm.. will never know. The car ran strong so I would def try the free trail..but I would go w GIAC for the long term stage 1/2 set-up..
And the guys at RennArt are great. they did my K04 install..Billy knows his stuff..
    thats my .02 cents..

    revo.... lol....

those guys are a joke. Ripped off some code from APR and started their own chip tuning company... Got sued... Not sure how that ended up.

They had some real garbage BT tunes for the 1.8ts back 5 years or so ago. Ran like shit as i recall.

For the record, this statement is completely erroneous. There is nothing in our software that would prohibit any other company or the dealer for that matter from communicating with and flashing the ECU.

    Re: Revo software Free Trial

I tried the free trial and the car felt strong to me. I would spike 17 psi and taper to about 15. Wound up going with Dahlback. Can't really compare them being that i installed piggies b4 dahlback but after revo trial. Didnt have any problems with codes being left on the ecu as far as i know.

Hey George. I used to have a revo for my stage2 and was very powerfull. I want to sell my revo to my friend but it does'nt work. Look's like he'll have to use my hardware chip right? Do you think swaping ecm's will do the job? I have to replace the chip anyway b/c of custom tune i need.

    Re: Revo software Free Trial

all stock turbo flashes do essentially the same thing.
    1. increase requested boost
    2. advance timing
    3. request more fuel
if your car pops then there was something wrong with your car.
i.e. your a/f ratios went to shit, your shit had a leak, your turbos were weak anyways etc etc.
im sick of ppl blaming software when somethign breaks
op; get the trial. it will be fun for the 5/6 hours you have it.

    Unfortunately, Revo software is non-transferable.
