auto light switch...

Hey everyone, I'm new here... I recently purchased an 04 a4 1.8t tiptronic... I love the car so far.. but there were a couple of options I wish my car would have had. I've done some searches and found great info on the rns nav mod... and on adding a b7 steering wheel.. but couldn't find the information on a couple of things.

I'm hoping some of you wise audi people out there can help. If my car doesn't have the xenon package... and has manual lights.. is there a way to add the auto light switch.. and I'm guessing a sensor that reads the amount of light???

also... for an auto dimming interior rear view mirror... can that be added? is the wiring harness there in the headliner?

Just take the interior light cover off to find out if there is a harness for the mirror - it is quite easy to do. My 2002 UK A4 Avant did not have the harness.
The consensus regarding upgrading to HIDs is to go with OEM parts. There are lots of people who have upgraded. Not sure what you mean by an auto light switch - is it one that switches the headlights on automatically when it goes dark?
