    Back seat passenger handle

Okay, so, short story is that my friend (who volunteered to pay for it) broke the back seat passenger side grab handle thing. The actual handle piece broke off and the folding mechanism is broken as well. Unknown to me, my dad went out and ordered a replacement from Audi through a dealership already and they said it'd be $77 TOTAL :O

yeah.... i don't really want my buddy to pay for that much so i wanna chip in, but i'm looking for cheaper places to find it. it's a 2001 A4 and the piece is grey. now he's insisting that the stealership should install it, but there is NO way, i'm gunna pay for that. it's only those 2 screws that hold it in right? how hard is it to replace that?

also, do you think there are cheaper alternative places to find these kind of parts? we might be able to return that piece to the dealership so i'm still looking around.

    thanks :D

it's really weird though. it's my car that i went out and bought, so i think it's kinda weird that my dad's go out of his way to find the part. provided, it is from the dealership so it's expensive as ****, but all i did was tell him about what happened and he walks up the next day saying he ordered the part. i guess it's cool that he wanted to help, but it just might end up costing us a shit load more, lol.

    Re: Back seat passenger handle

yes there is a cheaper place - you either go to the classifies looking for anyone parting out their car with the same interior or contact this guy say you are from the audi website - you will need a part number

    Carson Heter
    Riverside Audi/Riverside Motorsport
    (201)-758-1600 Ext. 122
    E-mail your parts requests to:
    cheterATriversideaudiDOTcom
Please include your VIN number in your email!

also it is an easy job to DIY to replace those plastic pieces

You can definitely find that part easily, either threw someone parting out their car or a junk yard.. not many people break those. And they're very easy to put in.

Also, I'm pretty sure the dealership was including a bj with that price.

And finally.. did you mean to spell your user name like that? or did you mistakenly forget the d, in zoidberg?

    Re: Back seat passenger handle

    wow, thanks guys.

so to replace it, it's just those screws right? there's no problem with the roof fabric?

oh shit, just noticed that. thanks for pointing that out, lol. i used Dr. Zoidberg for all my account names, even on COD4, i just guess i misspelled it this time @_@. is there a way to change that?

This would be along shot, but salvage yards are good places to find parts as well. I have seen a few B5's at the one down the road from me.
