    Boost Controller

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Ordered a MBC off ebay and installed it today. Wouldn't limit boost no matter where I set it. I'd keep hitting 25 PSI. I have the waste gate T'ed off going to the N75, and the Turbo outlet T'ed off going to the n75. The APR Inlet is going to the longest nozzle on the N75.

I'm assuming it's some shitty product considering what I paid for it.

Now I'm looking at EBC's. Anyone have any advice on a simple one with just one boost setting, easy to install, etc?

Saw a Blitz dual SBC one I was thinking about and a greddy PRofec. Gizzmo has seemed the easiest so far.

If the MBC had a shitty spring I'm still assuming it would be able to limit the boost some amount, correct?

No body here uses that. That thing is made with Home Depot parts.

If I was to buy a new EBC I would go with the PBC-1 from World Motorsports. I use been using a HKS EVC 4 since 2001.

Oricle - did you try hooking the pressure hose from the turbo directly to the wg actuator? It could be that your WG is stuck shut causing the turbo to hit 25psi no matter what and I would check to make sure that the wg is working correctly before you buy a EBC.

I dont know anyone that runs that junk. The # 1 MBC used world wide is the Hallman MBC.

    or their Pro MBC

Thank you. I'll try it out.
Just hooked it up. 4th gear it wouldn't get past 15 PSI, 3rd gear I spiked at 18 and it dropped to 14-15 PSI.

    Re: Boost Controller

I'm assuming boosting to 15 PSI means the WG isn't stuck shut, meaning I just have shitty luck with boost controllers?

or maybe the n75 is still controlling boost somehow.

Well the WG is working, just means it has a 15psi spring. Did you try using just the MBC with the N75 just looped between the 2 nipples and the harness plugged in?

Used this diagram to hook everything up. Should I try eliminating the N75?

    Thank you.

Never talked to anyone running a bleed style. Should I go for a hallman MBC?

I like it because you can tune it to your hearts desire. Complex is the wrong word to use, I would classify it as complete. It can do almost everything you would want a boost controller to do. I am really happy with mine and I got it for $200 so that made it even better.

    Re: Boost Controller

I ended up putting the MBC on standalone. Kept my N75 plugged in with the APT inlet's line running to it and capped off the other ports on the n75.

I'm boosting to 15 PSI and holding no matter what setting on the Ebay MBC. Figuring the thing is screwed. Ordered a Hallman MBC like Mike suggested. Hoping this shit gets fixed soon. Once I reclamp my MAP I'm going to end up redynoing and see what numbers I can get.
