Alright, boys and girls, this is the culmination of too much work and too many injuries. But per request (and my own ignorance and foolishness), I present to you:
Not the greatest pics, but BOOM!, here we go...
Ignore the grill for now, the LED strips are aluminum, coated with plasti-dip and look a little something like this:
In the daytime they can be stealthy...
Or Aesthetic...
From dusk until dawn, they really shine--->
For those who wish to do this at home, go for it! I hope you have patience. The name, however, is mine. I've been itching for a lawsuit, so please make my year;)
For all those wondering, I ran them through the carwash tonight...no problems. The are robust and the resistors stay warm (not hot) to the touch).
The Light: Let's face it, as of now, most automotive LED light is purely aesthetic. These work great in addition to your parking lights and would work for you if your headlights happened to go out. However, I'm not going to pretend these will replace a 55w halogen, in terms of outpout. In the coolness department, Fledlites FTW! They emit about as much light as the OEM LED's on factory Audi models and quite simply, I love the look.
The grills are an ongoing project. I'll get to that, this weekend. For now, I plan on continued testing of my setup and begin construction of new strips, for those wishing to purchase the strip alone. Price...I am thinking in the neighborhood of $175. These take many hours and some money to do them right.
I'll try to get more elaborate as time goes on. For now, many have been patiently waiting...This is for them. Fire away with the questions. If you don't like them, cool. But don't waste your time posting, it's a buzzkill. Thanks for the support, guys. A great community of enthusiasts, you are!
