Can anyone recommend good light tires???

It seems like many of us know the weight of the wheels that go on our car, but I looked and looked and it seems to be really difficult to find info on tire weight. Does anyone know a site that shows tire weight for z-rated tires? I called tire rack an they said Michelins are the lightest, but I had a feeling that he didn't know what he was talking about. I wonder if there is a super light tire out there.

For what sizes? When I had my Miata, this was a valuable tool:

    http://www.miata.net/faq/tire_weights.html

There was a really old list from WAY back, might still be of some use:

    Tire weight in lb.

    Size S-02 P.Pos. SP-9000 SP-8000 Proxes T1-S RE-71

    225/50-16 24 23.4 26 22.7 26.0
    245/45-16 24 25.1 26.5 21.6 26.0
    225/45-17 24 22.5 n.a. 20.9 30.0
    245/40-17 26 23.9 n.a. 22.3 25.0
    245/40-18 27 24.8 24.9 24.0 n.a.
    275/35-18 30 27.2 26.5 25.6 n.a.

In the end, you'll sleep better if you just hit the Tire Rack site for the tires you narrow it down to, and make a list yourself. Look at the 'specs' link for each tire.

Stock size for the PS2's (225/45/17) is 23 lbs. Goodyear F1's are 24 lbs.

Thanks! It looks like the Michellin PS2 is really light too. 22 lbs for 235-35-19. I dont think I want to spend the money though.

Tire Rack has it. When you're in the page for the tire you want, click on "Sizes" (or something like that) to get the chart of every size they make that model tire in, and in the chart they list the weight.
