    MASS CODES!! help!!!!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
After installing downpipes, I got a whole mess of codes. Keep in mind that wires underneath had been rotted and touching but have been repaired now, although the damage has been done:

(The ones in bold are the codes I don't know how to fix. I just bought a new N75, N249, and MAF from ecs.)

    16518 P0134 035
    O2 Sensor Circuit, Bank1-Sensor1
    No Activity Detected

    16538 P0154 035
    O2 Sensor Circuit, Bank2-Sensor1
    No Activity Detected

^ These I can clear, I got them because I'm running no cats. Now, onto the others:

    17833 P1425 035
Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Regulator Valve
    Short-circuit to ground

    17938 P1530 035
    Intake camshaft control circuit
    Short-circuit to ground

    17955 P1547 035
    Wastegate Bypass Regulator Valve -N75
    Short-circuit to ground

^ Bought new N75 to fix this.

    17697 P1289 035
    Recirculating valve for turbocharger -N249
    Short-circuit to ground

^ Bought new N249 to fix this.

    17529 P1121 035
    O2 Sensor Heater Circ.,Bank2-Sensor2
    Short-circuit to ground

    17525 P1117 035
    O2 Sensor Heater Circ.,Bank1-Sensor2
    Short-circuit to ground

    17522 P1114 035
    Bank 1, sensor 2
    Internal Resistance too Large

    17548 P1140 035
    Bank 2, sensor 2
    Internal Resistance too Large

And finally, the one I think started it all and is putting me in limp mode:

    16486 P0102 035
Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor -G70-
    Signal too low

^ Bought a new MAF to replace this.

Did I make the right moves by buying these new parts? The wires that the shop found to be fucked were all fixed. I just don't want to install these new parts and have them short circuit again. Any good places to check for other bad wires?

Pressure test the car for the evap code, and check the camshaft position sensors.
The O2's appear to be not wired in correctly, or something is shorting in the wiring.

Awesome Jerbel. You're always helpin me out man. Where are the camshaft position sensors located exactly? O2's wired incorrectly how? They did extend the wires for the O2 sensors.. perhaps they did that wrong?

I guess I'll call the shop to get some answers. Let me know where the camshaft sensors are and I'll check em out.

u know ur shit so hit me up on aim cuz im an audi newbie.. Icehock418

    Re: MASS CODES!! help!!!!

Check the front of the cylinder heads where the valve covers meet the heads. You'll see a sensor and a wire going to it. Make sure the connectors are secure and the wires aren't broken. I don't have AIM unfortunately, but do you have gmail? I'm always on the gmail messenger if you need help with something...
Also, let me know if you need any stage 3 parts, I can hook you up

I dont think replacing the sensors will fix those, i dont like the idea of throwing parts and hoping for the best. you got a ton of short to ground problems, i would definately try to track down a wiring diagram(s) and see where you can possible have gotten that short that would affect so many systems. the car has tested the circuit and threw codes once you did the DPs so look where you redid your wiring, that is where i would look first, make sure there are no open wiring touching or a bad sodering job.

    good luck with everything!

    Thanks for the reply.

Well, the shop fixed the wires that were fucked up, they even showed me the new solder and shrink wrap job they did (obviously I didn't see the solder since it is now under the shrink wrap but they aren't amateurs). I do agree with the consensus and think the shop may have screwed the wires up, shorting everything out and then fixed them, telling me that they were already screwed up. Well, I woulda had the problems before my downpipes were put on if that was the case, so who knows.

Anywayyyy I took a good look at all the wiring under and in the engine compartment and can't find anything that looks out of place. A lot of people say the N75 or MAF go around 70k miles anyway, I have 71k on my car now. I am hoping it is the sensors as that would make life a whole lot easier, but if it's not, the car goes to Audi on Thursday for a complete once-over and diagnosis of what exactly needs to be fixed.

Hopefully this all works out for the best, stay tuned guys. More feedback is appreciated as well.
