    carbonio isnt gonna make it WORSE, that's for damn sure... u will get great sound, and propably no gain... I'd go with a boosted tech true cold air intake that goes all the way down, if I lived in Florida..

    Good, you should be embarrassed!

    I'm only kidding man, seriously though. If you're looking for a solution to obtaining cooler intake temps to avoid going into "Limp" mode, I would recommend you getting a True Heat shield from the AZ classifieds first. This segregates the ambient engine bay temps from your intake side. If that doesn't lower the temps to your liking (they'll be considerably lower regardless after the heat shield mod) then look into getting an alternative intake. Personally the OEM intake works just fine when complimented with the heat shield and Power gasket.

    It's an intake manifold gasket replacement.

    Taken from ECS's web site;

    Made from a high performance polymer Power Gasket™ conducts on average less than 1/500th of the heat of the steel gasket that it replaces. Your intake manifold will stay 30-50° F cooler and your incoming air will stay 20-30° F cooler.Power Gasket™ has been designed for affordability easy installation and no disruption to your manifold attachment and engine accessories. This means that you can simply swap your old intake manifold gasket for a Power Gasket. No buying longer bolts or installing multiple gaskets. In less than 2 hours you will be enjoying a more powerful better performing ride.NOTE: Does not fit Audi AEB Engines

    IIRC, I think the "power gasket" is usually referred to as "phelonic spacer"

    To the OP, if you are still running the stock SMIC then an upgraded intercooler is going to be a far better investment than an intake.

    I've been running a Carbonio intake in South Florida for the past 2 years with no issues at all. You might want to consider saving some $$ for an upgraded intercooler instead of an intake, it's very useful in summer!!

    I remember someone here did a review on the gasket and the conclusion isnt that great at all. As for intake, just use stock box....

    It moves injectors, affecting the spray pattern. Also, there is more than one temp. sensor, and the ECU calculates internal temperature based on the values these sensors provide, one being inside the manifold. With the gasket, the manifold sensor will screw up the results, and the ECU will assume the block is cooler than it really is. The potential harm being done by this gasket may not be apparent, but in the long term, it may accelerate engine wear.

    Re: Cold Air Intake In Miami??

    as for the phelonic spacers, i did a bit of research a while ago and came across a bit of info.

    apparently its good for intake temps and such, but its also bad because it keeps all that heat in the engine block rather than dispersing it through the manifold and such.

    don't really know how it effects anything. installed them on a friends tl type-s, and he said it made a difference while driving.
