I have a 2000 A6 2.7t 6-speed bone stock. Everything has been fine up until this afternoon.
I decided to change the coolant temp sensor. When I pulled the sensor out a lot of coolant gushed out because I didn't properly allow the car to cool. I had to take the intake accordian hose off during the process which may have allowed some coolant into the intake. Then after re-installation and filling the coolant tank, I did an oil change.
After taking the car out, I immediately noticed that the car was acting weird. If I got the car moving very slowly and eased into the throttle, it seemed normal. However, if i tried to get it going quickly in first gear with WOT, the car would surge back and forth and jerk very violently. This behavior does not show itself in the other gears. It drives fine other than the low-speed first gear jerking.
Do you think this has something to do with the spillage of the coolant? Please help!
