Couple issues after downpipe install (coolant, boost leak)

Well, I finally installed my straight pipe piggie downpipes. The car sounds awesome, and I love that smell of fuel. However, After getting on the car I am only hitting 7 psi, nothing less, nothing more, in every gear. (Normally I hit around 18 and hold ~16).

My check engine light is on, obviously because they are catless piggies and the CEL-eliminators did not fit with the 02 sensors plugged in. Also, my coolant light is on, but temperature is completely normal (C | H).

The guys doing the install (JM Fabrications) said the coolant sensor wire had washer fluid dripped on it and corroded and broke off, they resoldered and wrapped the wires and they think it shorted the sensor. Does this sound right?

I checked for boost leaks in the I/C pipes, and various hoses under the hood, came up with nothing. Is there some kind of limp mode or something that the ecu is putting the car in due to a check engine light or coolant sensor?

Sorry if these are newbie questions, I've never had problems like this installing downpipes on any other of my previous cars (supras, sti, etc.).

    Thanks in advance,

    Mark

You're car is in limp mode. You need to clear the codes. Also, that coolant level sensor business sounds like a load of shat. They broke the wire and then wrecked the sensor trying to fix it.

ahh thought so, and thanks for the quick response!!

The JMF guys are cool as shit, they definitely wouldn't pull something like that. They've always been very good to me and they did a great job on the install, especially for never having done a job like this before.

Now, does anyone have a VAG-COM near me (philly area?)

Quick question: So i'm in limp mode, I get the vag com and clear the code.. is that it for good? Can the CEL come right back on since there are no defoulers or anything in my O2 bungs, or once you clear the code it's fine for good?

I'm not saying that the guys are dishonest, but the fact is that the they broke the wire and then wrecked the sensor trying to fix it. I'm sure it was due to the fact that it was old and corroded, but they broke it none-the-less.

You are in limp mode for some reason other than the secondary O2 sensor code. Once you pull the codes you'll probably find out why you're in limp mode, and when you clear the codes you should be back to normal. You'll get a CEL again for the rear O2's, but like I said, that won't put you into limp mode.
