    Pics Please ! B7 18s/ Coilovers

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
After being at my first Audi Meet this weekend i realised how high my car is sitting even with the sport suspension. I was planning on buying 19" wheels
but am thinking of sticking with the stock 18s for a bit and doing Suspension first.

If you post a pic please state what Coilovers your running Thanks

Search Stasis, Tein, Bilstein(PSS9), Vogtland..... plenty of pics out there to find. Good luck!

I am aware of the Brands out there. I would like to see pics with 18s as most people are running 19s

    Re: Pics Please ! B7 18s/ Coilovers

18x8.5 dropped on Stasis SS (aggressive street stance). Will be raising it up a bit because the rear is rubbing on bumps.

Oh, and this is on a mountain, so the nose is facing downhill....there is 0 wheel gap (tucked a bit actually), but because of the angle, it looks like a small wheel gap.

Edit: Just measured floor-to-fender and found out that I do not have aggressive street setup...i'm actually sitting about 24.75. Yup, definately needs to go up about 1/2 inch.

    Re: Pics Please ! B7 18s/ Coilovers

good choice... suspension first, then wheels. i made the mistake of upgrading to 19's with low-profile tires before doing a proper drop. the results weren't pretty...

your stock S-Line 18's look pretty solid anyway

if you're not a hardcore tracker, stasis street sports provides a nice compromise of looks, handling, and ride comfort

Here is mine on Pss9's and the stock S-Line wheels. Fender heights are 26 in front, and 25 in the back, both still need to be adjusted. Probably going to bring the front down about half an inch, and raise the back a tad(.25-.5), it gets really low when there is weight in the back of the car.

    Re: Pics Please ! B7 18s/ Coilovers

I read through loads of threads about setting ride height etc, and I told my workshop guys I wanted it to sit at 25" all round. I think it may be a touch lower than that at the back, but haven't measured it.

    bugger.. looks alot like mine.

Man I wanna lower the DTM a little more, but I moved house and I rub on the speed bumps in my street when loaded. And the stupid thing is they are the only ones that are that high/short in the entire area!!!

Needless to say I've already contacted my city council complaining about em. Hopefully they'll lower the bumps, so I can lower the car.

    Re: Pics Please ! B7 18s/ Coilovers

I have PSS9's, at about 26" and I dont rub.
With the original DTM suspension it rubbed during hard cornering, but not anymore.
Only sort of rubbing is the bottom of the chassis on 2 speed bumps in my street.

Not at all. So long as you're not using wheels with overly agressive offsets or overtly wide tires and the car is properly aligned after the install, there shouldn't be any rubbing with any shock or coil regardless of brand.

    Re: Pics Please ! B7 18s/ Coilovers

If I have the stock sport suspension, will I need to lower it more if I go with 19's? I have to load production equiopment in my trunk from time to time, and Im worried about rubbing when Im loaded down.

I saw a pic of 19's on the stock sport suspension in the FAQ forum and it looks OK.
