    Arg. No Ferodos for me...

Was about to start piece-mealing my S4 brake kit and finally has a chance to start doing some research on pads. After STFA here and AW, I concluded that Ferodo DS2500's were my choice. Turns out they make a pad for just about every application but this one.

So, I'm back to square one. I spoke with Chris @ Race Shopper [very cool guy, quite helpful] and he suggested Hawk HPS as a substitute.

Time to start researching again. Or maybe just save for a StopTech... although a BBK just doesn't seem worth it for some reason.

+1 for Chris @ raceshopper.com. Great guy. I couldn't figure out why my Hawks were making a noise and he kindly theorized I didn't do the prongs right.

My recommendations is Hawk HPS if you want sensors and Ferodo 2500 if you don't. Looks like Hawk HPS for you. You won't be disappointed.

12/23/09 - My car has been phenomenal to me. Runs strong. Don't think I'm ever going to sell it. Rather throw $7k into it for a refresh than buy a new A4 that has no dipstick.
    12/5/10 - 100k miles & counting!
    9/22/13 - 146k+ & running strong w/a new TB, water pump, etc.

Thanks for your opinion here. That'll be my route if I stick with the plan to do the S4 upgrade. I'm kinda wavering... but a Stoptech kit is a lot of loot. But, can't upgrade the go w/out the stop first.

raceshopper is great to deal with, just bought my hawk blue's from there 2 weeks ago. But i would not really compare the Hawk HPS and the Ferrodo DS2500's. The DS2500 is a more aggressive pad than the HPS, much more resistant to fade. It is a little dustier than the HPS though. And it is a tad louder than the HPS.

DS2500's are dusty as hell and definitely audible when on the pedal. We put HPS's on an Elise a few weeks back, seemed like great pads the short time I was breaking them in and driving the car!
