    patchwork exhaust question

My car has developed an exhaust leak recently, a little puffing noise from the center of the car. I haven't crawled under to check just yet but I'm 99% sure that it's my flex pipe, it has looked pretty haggard for the last few months. I figure I'll take it to Meineke or another cheap exhaust place to be replaced. I was thinking, while they are under there, would it be worth it to have the center resonator removed? I've already replaced the original muffler for a little more grunty sound with a magnaflow dual oval tip which looks nice and sounds decent. If i remove the resonator and replace it with a straight pipe will the car be unreasonably loud? Will there be a ton more drone on the highway? Any input is appreciated!

    Re: patchwork exhaust question

take it to a decent exhaust shop to ahve your leaks fixed... mineke will do garbage welds 90% of the time. Drone will exist since your getting rid of the resinator, however the exhaust will flow better since the stock resinator has that flat spot on it.
