    Weird fender "pop out"

Ok, so this is a really weird thing that maybe some of you will be able to shed some light on. About two weeks or so I noticed that my fender had "popped out". What I mean by pop out is where the fender folds into the wheel well...a section of that folded piece bent out and was sticking straight down. It is towards the back of the fender, right before the fender lining screw. This was on the passenger front side.

At first I thought, "Well, maybe something strange just happened. O'll get someone to roll the fender and I'll be good to go." Approximately 1.5 weeks later, the same thing happens on the driver side in the EXACT same spot...what the hell? I'll get a picture up later to show you exactly what I mean, but does this sound familiar to anyone? It's really bugging me and I don't see how the hell it could happen...especially on both sides in the same spot.

how much is your drop? could be that your wheel/tire rubs against the fender when u hit bumps and you dont realize it.

Im at a 22 1/2 ride height. However, even if it did rub, would it cause the metal to fold outwards? I mean, if it was rubbing, it would just rub in the same direction as the tire, right? If I'm an idiot and the rubbing could cause this problem, then please go ahead and say it . I just want to get to the bottom of this!

If you're turning while hitting a bump, the tire will grab the lip and pull it down. Check your tires outer surface for damage. The fender usually slices the tire up when it catches like that. You should roll your fenders.

aaah. that makes sense. Yeah, I'm going to have my fenders rolled ASAP, and I'll also try to raise my car a little. Does anyone by chance know what an average price is for getting your fenders rolled from a body shop?

    Thanks for the responses!

if your slammed and you angle up driveways your tire will catch the fender and pull it down. Its happened to me many of times. Just get them rolled and you wont have any issues.

Your car is super low! It definitely was caused by the tire hitting it on a bump. How long have you owned your wheels? What size, width, and offset are you running? I had the same problem and I am at 25"!

I've owned these wheels for maybe 6 months or so now. They're 18" wheels, 225/40. Yeah, I'm going to have my fenders rolled as soon as I can find a place that will do it. None of the body shops around here seem to do it. For now I'm just going to raise the car up a little and see what happens.

You can roll the fenders quite easily. You have a baseball bat and a hair blow-dryer?
