    Question about B6 A4 trunk

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I just saw a commercial on youtube for an A4 with a one-touch automatic trunk opening function.

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=vxVMrfgS5b4

I've got a 2005 B6 A4, and when I open my trunk, it only unlatches, and I have to pull it up by force to get it all the way open. Is there something wrong with the hydraulics perhaps? Or is that just the way it's supposed to be? Is this function only on the B7's or only the Avants?

Whenever I open the trunk for someone, they always double-check me, asking if I opened it or not. When I push the button to open, it only pops up about a centimeter or so. Is it just me or does this happen to the rest of you?

    I want that automatic trunk!

that would be nice on the sedans... the lexus rx330s, and some of the import minivans have them... dodge had/has a caravan package that has keyless hatch opening.... CrAzY

Re: Question about B6 A4 trunk

1 touch are only on like hatch backs .... so avants, q7 and shit like that

i dun think any sedan has it

if you really want it - its not that hard to rig .... u just need 2 hydraulic arms

the ghetto way to rig it is constant pressure in the arms so the second it unlatches it'll start popping up - but might be a bitch to close again.

The smart way is to get some electronically controlled hydraulic arms ... but that'll cost more than its worth

Why? An automatic trunk is just another pricy and pointless part that can break.

Re: Question about B6 A4 trunk

I'm wondering if it's a stock feature on the B6, because if so mine is definitely broken - in which case I could probably get it fixed with the warranty. Wouldn't actually pay for it as a mod!

ya lots of Benzes have it on their sedans as well as some Audi's like the A8! i'd love to have that or at least like our C240 where u hold down the button and it shoots up! no it isn't a factory part and none of us have this!

Re: Question about B6 A4 trunk

    wow, nice ass

i wouldn't mind putting hydraulics so that it's automatic only when you unlatch it to open. because that's usually when you have your hands full and you don't always want to use your foot to kick the boot open.
