Tire size, let me know!

ok im going with 18x9 wheels with 35/45ET on Koni FSD and Eibachs, which tire size would you guys go with, as of now, im thinking 235/40/18 , but let me know what you use/think. thanks.

235. YOu'll rub with 245s. been there donethat, had to return the 245s day1 and that was with 18 X 8 wheels.
BTW which wheels are yuo ending up buying?

Man, I would of been all over this wheel if it was 19s and the offset wasn't so crazy.

My "guess" is Et35 will give you the closest to this look but you might rub

35 and smaller, 235 will give you stretched look so you can go with 35 for sure, if i remmember correct i have like 15 mm offset now with 19x9.5 and 245s, on the back.

Andrey is right, to get that look, you'd need 35 or <... ET45 will bring the wheel in more than what you are looking for.
I personally liek ET 35 for our cars n most wheels

Andrey, you are crazy, 9/5 and Et15 :) Your wheels stock out 1/2 inch or more right?

I think it'd ahve a problem becaus eof his ofter suspension and added travel up and down especially with 245 tires... That's why I sugested 235s and 35ET... THE FSDs let the rear end go up and down quite a bit. I ahve them on. My tires rubbed with 18 X 8 Et35 rims and 245/40/18 goodyear F1 AS tires

yeah, the rim is like 1/2 inch out, but the 245 tire makes it look good and its inside the wheel well so no rocks damage, i have 38mm et plus 1 inch spacer;)

Andrey, would 40 offset work without spacers for our cars? 04 has a different brake than your car right? Anyways, info would be appreciated :)

^ not sure about offset on 04, but yes the front caliper is different, it is not HP2, maybe someone else can chime in...but dont worry about running spacers, i used spacers on alot of track events and autocross, not a problem :)

It only rubbed slightly when going over really big dips with 2 adults in the back seat. Other than that I had no rubbing issues.

Thanks for the info. I just found some 19" Privat Netz with black centers. The price is unbeatable I think. I was just worried about the offset being 40 but worst comes to worst I guess I'll use spacers. Thanks again

No cutting, rolling, sway bars. Just Eibach sports on stock shocks.

All around Frank? I would do some research before you do that. It's become a sketchy subject with me. I wanted some lip on the wheels so I asked some of the wheel shop and they said that only C6s can go up tp 9.5 fronts but not our car. The most they would recommend would be 8.5 in the fronts. Some wheel shops say it's possible and some say it's not. I wish I can get a definite answer so I can get my freakin' wheels!! Anyways, I hope this info didn't ruin anything for you

Right, they said "up to" 9.5 on 2005 and up A6s but the widest we can go (2004 A6 2.7T to be exact) is supposedly 8.5. With 9in width up front with a 35 offset they said that it could run into issues. If he wanted to make a quick $1500.00 he could have just sold the wheels to me but he wouldn't even recommend it and not sell it to me. I got my previous wheels from him and he doesn't BS to make money. When I mentioned 20s he said that it could work but again, his recommendation was stick with 18s or 19s with 32et or 35et.

He told me that 32-35offset is ok for the car and 8in width is no problem. Here are the wheels that I wanted and the ppl that I spoke to schooled me well enough to narrow down my choices.

1. MRR HR4s 19x8 all around with 35et (Still my #1 choice)
2. BBS LM Reps 19x8.5 all around with 35et (Too many ppl have them)
3. Mandrus Milleniums 19x8.5 & 19x9.5 35et (Don't want to go staggered)
4. Petrol Vengeance 19x8 all around 35et (1in lip didn't turn me on)
5. Privat Netz 19x8 all around 40et (shop told me straight up it wouldn't work on my car)

The funny thing about the Netz is that when I went to their website it says that 40et would work on my car and our offset (2004 A6 2.7T) is 36. Here's a little email that went back and forth with one of the wheel shop.

Jin: I'm looking to put this on my 2004 Audi A6 2.7T. Will these fit without any spacers or mods? Thank you.

Shop: No, they will not clear the brake calipers. You should be looking for an 8 to 8.5 inch wide wheel with a 32-35mm offset and a flat "face forward" design.

Jin: (Being persistent)Do these come in 32-35 offset?

Shop: No, these will not fit your vehicle. (Just shot down my hopes with a straight forward "NO")

So our conversation went on to the Mandrus wheels and I asked him if I could run 9.5 all around so I can keep the lip without staggering. His answer was again "NO" and he mentioned that 9.5 can only go on the rear and 8.5 is the widest I want to go in the fronts.

Basically 18x8 with a 32-35 offset does not require spacers on our cars. But anything other than the 32-35 offset is still a big mystery to me.

8 width is for b5 a4/s4....you will regret it, get 9 minimum ! if i could find 2 more rims like mine in 19x9.5 i would go 19x9.5 all around with rolled fenders and low as hell with 245/35/19s, cause later you will be selling your 18x8 for something wider.......

You gotta remember that I had 19x10s in the rear with a 35 offset. Just like Andrey said with the 8in you might not achieve the look that you are going for. The 18x8 with a 35 offset will fit with no issues or mods but you aren't going to get what you're looking for.

With all my wheels so far it's always been 19x8.5F, 19x10R et 35, 19x8 all around, 18x8.5F & 18x9.5 rear all et35.

so i gave raderwerks a call today , and they said i should be safe with 18x9 in the front, and to be honest, i cant see why 9" wide in the front would be an issue either, and if i have to roll the fenders, well then so be it. wont be the first time.

ok, i ordered my wheels today along with my In.Pro mirrors (i had to re-order them) and 710N DV's for now, i need new ones fast, the wheels are Raderwerks MTEN-80's, and they should be here monday, 18x9 35ET all around!!!, i cant wait! i will post pics asap!

I got the same wheels and color that are on this Jetta, which is close to my blue, but i got the same as his back wheels, which are 18x9 for all 4 wheels!!! here ya go
