    Red Light Camera

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Today after school i passed by the "Amar" and "grand" intersection by Mt. Sac where there were dozens of these red light cameras. Unfortunately, i see the yellow light so i sped up to make a right turn onto grand. ( I seriosuly think i made the cut) The next thing I know, i got served in the face with FLASH. (However, there were no signs saying no right turn on red...but i guess its cuz i didnt wait the three second). Now, before the pics come i'd like to know more about it. First of all, is it true that the first time will be just a warning...or do i have to pay a fine? If so, how much would it cost? Second of all, do i need to go to traffic school? Lastly, would my insurance rate inflate and cost points on records... well, cuz im only 16 turning 17 and i happened to be carrying a friend of mine :[ . Anyways, informations would be helpful. APPRECIATE IT.

Damn, red light ticket + ticket for having someone with you with a provisional license.

If I were you, when you receive the ticket in the mail just send it back saying I have no idea who that is driving my car and they should throw the ticket out, but may not. If that fails send the check in with an extra $5 and they shouldn't cash the ticket and it gets thrown out. Has happened to a few friends of mine.

wtf you're 16 and you drive an audi already?

i once ran a yellow light and i saw the flash when i was in the middle of the intersection. theres a shitload of them on harbor blvd, so don't run reds. i never got anything in the mail, though i was scared shitless for about a month.

Who is the car registered to? The ticket will be issued to this person. Lets say its your dad. Then all he has to do is write a letter to the city court (address will be on the ticket) stating that it is not him driving. Make a blown-up copy of his drivers liscence, and send it in. Here is a sample letter:

    December xx, 20xx

    Complaint: #04xxxxx
    Defendant: YourDad
    License No.: D29xxxx State: AZ

    To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is in regards to the above Complaint on 12/2/20xx. I received this Complaint stating that I, YourDad, committed violation of ASR-28-701.A, “unreasonable speed.”

Attached to this letter is evidence that I am not the driver, and this complaint should be dismissed. Included is a photocopy of my drivers license (front and back), and a copy of the Automated Traffic Enforcement sheet which shows a different person.

I feel it is not my job to identify the driver, since that is the City’s and photo radar company’s job, before even sending out a ticket.

Since the court summons is only 3 weeks away from today, I request that the complaint is dismissed and I don’t have to present myself. I live very far away, and can’t miss work.

Thank you for your time. I look forward to hearing back from you.

    Respectfully yours,
    YourDad

    Re: Red Light Camera

You'll have to pay 385.00 and that's with traffic school. You won't get your license taken away since they have no proof that your passengers aren't over 20. The picture will be of your rear license plate, your face, and a zoomed out shot of you over the white line. And your passengers faces will be whited out.
