$2,500 S4.

A friend of mine has the chance to buy an 2002 S4 nagaro blue, for $2,500. It has the original turbos, and come with ko4s in box. But.......the car has been sitting for 2 years with hood open and exposed to weather. Kid started taking engine apart to put in new tubos and then stopped. Car has like 40,000km on it.
Is this a good buy or no. Or don't waste the time or money trying to fix all the exposed parts????

well considering the k04's alone are just over $2,000, why not buy it for 2500?

Sounds like a Deal to me, the turbos alone are worth that. I would go for it, however you dont know the condition of the motor and you dont know how much your going to have to put into it, My guess is there is alot of rust in there. do you have pictures?

I'd buy it. I would turn a very nice profit parting it out.. but if it runs fine and isn't too bad, I would just fix it up and keep it. Though it the hood was left open for 2 years, it could be a huge waste of money and time.

5k total, sell the turbos for 1700 then sell the car with running motor for 12k+ and make over 7k profit easy.

I bought an A4 that sat in a driveway for a year - with the hood closed. It was a freakin mess!! Rodents somehow got into the car and shit/pissed all over the place.. Things rusted that shouldn't have rusted. The car still reeks over a year later after being put back into service. I guess it depends on the climate it was stored in.

You could part the car out for twice that, and I would pay $2,500 just to get the turbos, and any part of the car, even if it is a total loss.

buy it,.. Keep the turbos, and part it out.. No way I would keep it.. I would just assume that moisture got into the wiring harness, etc. Sell the motor for cheap to someone that plans to do a full bore and stroke for gt or something.

sell out then interior, body panels. tires and wheels, trans, axles, controls arms, everything.. You' easily make your money back and get free ko4's. I would think you could make at least 4-5 parting it out..

So here's the deal. My friend is going with the car for now. That deal was for him only. Car is Ok according to a body guy and an Audi teck. The top end needs to be rebuilt, and some part need to be replace cause of rust. Car has 55,000 on it. If i know my friend Mike he will not keep it long, or eventually back out.
I will repost when i know more of what he's going to do with the car. I showed hom some of the post and told him if he didn't go with it that "he's a fucking Idot". So we'll see.
