what would sound better

i want my exhaust to be loud(er) but still sound nice, i have the stock resonator and mufflers, and i was thinking about taking out the central resonator and putting an x-pipe in its place, or just piping where it was (no x or h pipe). or would it sound better if i ran the central resonator and took out the back 2 mufflers?
i have a 3.0 btw

Just weld up some magnaflow 14851's to the stock piping and leave the stock resonator.

^^no way! diesels have a very distinct sound! and if u did do that ur exhaust would smoke like crazy!

i'm on a budget and can't drop 300 on mufflers + install. all i want to know is what would sound better, no resonator, or no mufflers? i'm not going to ad anything to the exhaust except piping

b6onboost's suggestions was the best without buying an aftermarket cat-back. on a 3.0 it'll sound like crap if you remove the resonators and be way too f'ing loud without mufflers.

you can get a pair of magnaflow mufflers for $200. I bought mine for $103 each..came out to 207 total..i need to get them installed now..

yeah, and cherry bombs are garbage. if you want a nice sounding exhaust, just drop the $200 on the 14851s.

an intake on a stock 3.0 will give a little more sound. they can be pricey too but i got mine in the classifieds for like $100. give it a shot. magnaflow 14852s are pretty awesome too. i added those after i got used to the intake sound. your car can always be louder

^^^ he is right, heard his car and it sounds nice with the magnaflows... and you have to pay to play as stated above, unless you like getting pulled over because you chopped your exhaust into straight pipes and then once again you'll have to pay...

just cut out the freakin resonators and add an intake and call it a day, this isn't a junk integra to be cheap with u bought a 3.0 the top of the line model A4 under the S4, why be cheap??

it wouldn't be "straight piping", and the law in georgia only requires you to run a resonator or muffler, and i had resonated tips on my truck, that was it, and got pulled over for just about everything except my exhaust.
and just because i don't want to drop an unreasonable ammount of money on something that gives me no gain makes me "cheap", don't think so.
and even if it was being "cheap" im going to college in the fall so i need all the money i can get. so dont post if you're going to tell me to put magnaflows on it, because it wont happen. i just want to know what would sound better, nothing else.
and yes, x-pipe ftw, i think
and btw, i already have an intake, and yeah, it has a heat shield so dont give me that bull crap "heat soak" lecture
