Painting / refinishing wheels black question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey guys,

I bought a set of bbs ch wheels on AZ and the seller (dr duct) offered to refinish them in any color I'd want. I'm trying to get a flat black look, but it seems like powder coating is the best way to achieve a very consistent and weather resistant finish.

Is there anyway way I can get this flat black metal look with just paint:

Satin black looked pretty decent in pictures but it was way too soft IRL and looked like it needed to be baked.

Here's a phone shot of how the wheel looks satin black:

    Thanks!

Go for a semi gloss black powder coat finish.

BBQ grill paint is what I am going to use! Done it before and it lasted and looked good!

    Yes, exactly!

I want a look very similar to the BBS CH BE. I've got them back now, and they are looking like this:

I'm thinking of wet sanding them to make it less shiny -- what do you think?

You don't wet sand them to make them less shiney... Use a satin/flat/matte clear coat...

Some sort of satin clear coat would do the job. Sanding is just going to remove the paint.
