    MPG difference between 07 & 08 A4

Does the 08 A4 really get worse gas milage than the 07's, or am I just not seeing reliable sources. When I look at the 08 specs on a dealer web page, it shows that the 08 get 27 hwy, and I seem to be seeing that the 06&07's get 30-31 mpgs on various other websites. I know its not that big a deal, but I was just wondering if there were changes to the 08's that caused this.

Damn I thought you were seeing things and there was no way but the numbers dont lie:

    .................................2007 A4..............2008 A4

    Fuel Economy City........17 - 24 mpg.......15 - 21 mpg
    Fuel Economy Highway..27 - 34 mpg.......25 - 31 mpg

Anyone with a higher knowledge of this have a reason as to why? I am getting very curious.

i have an 07, the 08 numbers look more realistic for me... the 07 numbers seemed to be a bit over stated.

    ANSWER:
Ummm.... they changed the laws to how the sticker shows the MPG numbers now. Before, I believe were best case scenarios, and now they make the manufacturers average best cases or something.

Same engine... same horsepower/torque... no changes in MPG... just the numbers presented on the manufacturer sticker.

    That would make more sense

    Re: MPG difference between 07 & 08 A4

For 2008 the EPA mandated new mileage calculation regulations. The new guidelines effectively lower posted mileage ratings to make the ratings more "realistic." The actual gas mileage of the cars (with identical equipment) doesn't change from 2007 to 2008. You can find lots of information on this change with a simple Google search.
