No Need to VAG-COM Tail Lights for Amber?

    I'm one of those waiting to pre-order a B8 A4.

I assume the North American version is going to have red turn signals in the rear, like recent Audis have.

I, on the other hand, want amber, even though I'm going to be in the U.S.

Since the B8 A4's tail lights are conventional, not LED, can I assume that I can buy European outboard tail lights with amber and have them work with maybe minimal re-wiring? Specifically, that I won't to VAG-COM the car, like I would with VWs that have the red/amber LEDs?

I've got a VAG-COM, but don't know my way around it yet. Besides, how long is it likely to be until codes are published for the B8?

Edit: OEMpl.us are already apparently offering European tail lights for the B8 A4 (part no. 8K5945095D), with an adapter harness. Yes? Wow, that was quick!
