How difficult is redoing the headliner? I wanted to do exactly what you did. Black suede.

    Re: Tedious Destruction

It was not hard. It was a little less than fun. It was tedious. I still have 5 parts to wrap. I'll be up till 6am, so I should be one by then.

    Props to you!

Dont you think it might look wierd with beige interior? (Which is what I have)

Arent you going to wrap the panels (ones attached to seatbelts) in suede?

I also want to do a black headliner....but I just dont like how suede will show the hand motions and stuff like that...

I would love to have a black interior, but I think I'll stick with the platinum. I think that the black will be a good contrast.

un-clip the seat belt from the seat. You have to pop off the trim panel and then you will see the seat belt clip......push down and pull it off the tab

Hahaha thats such a good explanation, happens most of the time when you try to make eye contact or something with someone in a nice car. They just keep their head dead ahead as if they didnt know you were trying to get their attention, acting like they're too cool to look and give a fellow enthusiast a thumbs up. I hate that crap. They act as if they didnt start off from less(like most of us originally do, not saying its every person though), and as if they never admired the nice cars on the road when they were kids. I guess they obviously get so many heads turning to them and stuff but at least another audi owner, one that has a hooked up audi.

^If you make eye contact with everyone on the road you would never see that pole rushing at you. Also, how do you know that they are an enthusiast or a joker that gives you the bird? I have been driving my parents cars and have gotten plenty of waves, birds, the occasional short chat, and also insults. It's not that they are TOO COOL, it's that they don't want to deal with the possible shit you encounter.

    Re: Tedious Destruction

My brother and i re-upholstered his entire headliner in his G35 coupe, it was.."fun"? haha took a whole weekend to do.

I noticed to left the plastic parts beige. It looks unfinished if you leave it that way. What you should do is what I did when we were doing this. Go to Autozone and buy a can of "Flat Black Fabric Spray Paint" and take all the plastic pieces and layer them with a coat of this.

It's amazing stuff. it literally seeps into the plastic, so it does not give the effect of being spray painted but instead it looks like an OEM black plastic piece. and any small lettering that might appear like "SRS" for the airbag, will still be as clear as it was before you sprayed it.

    Really?

Why is that? Is it due to the clash with the beige interior or just your craftsmanship?
