    B5 S4 Transmission Question/Problem...

I was driving on the highway and all of a sudden I couldnt get my car into gear at all.. Clutch felt perfectly fine but could shift into gear at all.. I turned off my car to see if I could shift into any gears and at first, I couldnt shift into any gears but after a few seconds i guess it loosened up and i was able to shift into all the gears and was able to drive home without a problem.. I had this problem like 2 months ago and drove fine ever since but it happened again tonight? Can this be a bad pressure plate or a bad clutch slave cylinder?? I want to diagnose the problem before I bring the car to the shop and spend like $400-$500 to have them take apart the transmission..Thanks!

It sounds like the slave. The same thing happened to me intermittently. I bled it, and it works fine now (knock on wood). If you end up needing a new slave, I have one I bought but never ended up using since the problem solved itself.

my car officially died on me.. cant shift into any gears at all when the car is on.. When I turn the car off it can only switch to 1st, 2nd, 3rd gear... I was able to drive back home on 1st gear only.. I need to get the car checked up.. any good local shops that can do the labor for a decent price? Im located in 11364.. Oakland gardens, new york..
