    Pic from Carlisle Import Show

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Didn't get a chance to take any pics of my own car at show (there had to be almost 100 Audis there, along with almost 200 Slaabs and Volvos and any other Euro you can think of), but someone else took these. Be sure to blow it up to full size to see details (at full size you can almost see the "Audizine.com" sticker in back quarter window):

On this one, the First Place Plaque from another show blew over from the wind.

And here is the engineering masterpiece of the weekend.... the "death bong" AKA "The quattro" and "the Quattronator", which was a 4 person, pressurized and fully automated refillable from the keg four-person beer bong.

And finally, since this a B6 post, I can tack on...

    GO PENGUINS!

Re: Pic from Carlisle Import Show

I got a couple of questions:

    1. Is your brake set up the stoptechs? what size and what calipers?
    2. Did you powdercoat your intake mani red or is that high temp spray paint.

    Car is definitely clean!

Yes, Stoptech 332 monoblocks. Had 355, but couldn't get both street and track wheels that cleared. Sold the 355 for almost what I paid for them. 332 works great. Hawk HPS pads. Rears are 255 3.0 upgrade with HPS pads also.

    2. Did you powdercoat your intake mani red or is that high temp spray paint.
1200 degree ceramic paint with high temp clear. It gets a little soft when I run it real hard, but has held up good so far. Oh, I did shave down the bumps on the top side of the entire intake maifold. It was smooth enough to polish before I hit it with paint.

Thanks to everyone else who gave props. There were some sick cars there as always. The Red URS4 next to me was off the hook. They had an S5, RS4 and an R8 in addition to some serious B5 S4's and older CQ's that were really sweet.

I think it was Miller Lite. That isn't what it really looks like; it was just the low light pic. It was light beer of some sort. 2 full kegs later it could've been piss for all we knew.
Seriously, if anyone on the north east coast (we had people from Ontario down to mid-Ohio as well) is around for this annual gathering, it is one of the best times you'll ever have. Without the fast 'n furious crowd. All Eruos, and very litle of the graphics and deck wing crowd.

Thanks. That splitter was doctored up heavily, though. I cut an inch out of the middle and an inch off each side and fuzed back together, then cut the front corners to match the USP curve a little better. That isn't how the splitter came out of the box, to say the least.

You gotta plan for next year. It is that fun, and you'll rarely see so many different and nice Audi's in one spot, not to mention the other Euro brands there.
You'll like the Vogtlands. Don't forget that the rears kind of go in upside-down from what you may think.

Yes, expanded metal. There is a place here in Pittsburgh that makes it, so I got a 4'X8' piece of it in the mesh pattern that most closely resembled stock USP fog grilles.
Both the upper and lower grilles were then custom formed from that. Neither are store-bought grilles. The fogs are standard USP, however I shaved out the backside on both to provide more openings than stock, and also so the FMIC piping would fit without rubbing.
The expanded metal pieces that you can buy at Home Depot aren't long enough to do a one-piece section.

It was incredible. Tapped right to keg. Well thought-out. Had bleeder valves so foam on the four hose refill would recycle back to the main tank up top, and then also a relief valve to keep a vacuum from occuring when the four tubes were opened for consumption. And with the CO2 setup, the top tank would just keep refilling itself. Only labor involved was turning the valve. It was heaven.

I don't have any of rear, but it is nothing but a 3.0 255mm upgrade with Hawk HPS pads. Doesn't look much different than stock, other than having Zimmerman Cross-Drilled rotors.
For front, all I have are:

Cardomain is kinda ghey, I know... but I never really check it.

Hey, what splitter do you have? Where did you get it?
It is a Reiger made for a B5 Reiger kit. It was cut and shortened and reformed and fuzed back together. It wasn't plug and play, but it matched contours of USP lower easier than the B6 one did. Mainly becuase it's made for a Reiger kit, not a stock bumper. I got it from namotorsports. Something like namotorsports.com.net.something.

The work you did on the lower and upper grills is sexy. Just about the only thing I hate about ultrasports from the factory is the mismatched grills up front.

Did you write up a DIY for the work you did? I'm trying to picture how exactly you'd get mesh like that to attach to the OEM grills and be nice and secure. Any info you have would be appreciated...or a link to another post containing any info about the process.

Re: Pic from Carlisle Import Show

No shit.... I didn't know. Thanks for pointing that out. Now the wifey isn't as mad about all the money I put in to the damn thing.
    Cool!

For those anywhere within a day's drive of Carlisle, it has to be the single most cool Euro and Audi event I've ever been to. I think almost 100 Audis from old skool to the R8. And don't forget the beer bong of death, "The Quattro" four-person beer bong. You can't go wrong!

Yeah, and Jim, your car is still the sweetness in my book, but I'd think the urs4 to the right of me in that pic is off the hook. I forget his dyno numbers but they are nuts.

Re: Pic from Carlisle Import Show

Im sure you lowered your car after the 19" installation.

I have sport suspension. how do you think that will look w/ those 19's?

Also have you seen these wheels on blk a4's w/out usp?

i realllllllllllllllllllllllllly like your upper&lower grill. I've been waiting for someone to come up w/ a decent looking setup. Finally!

If you could do any type of write up it would be huge for me!!!! ha

Nice ride, very clean. The only way to mod a car IF your going to mod it. CLEAN.
    Great example.
Maybe other ^^%$&^% modders will see how stupid they make themselves look w/ some of their hiddeous modding. (wheels that don't go together at all, usually looking like their riding on a set of ninja stars, ugly black out this black out that combo bullshit, sorry for the rant........point is don't waste your time and money modding your car so it looks worse than it did before.

Thanks for having a clue. Nice work.

When does the event take place? I go to school about an hour north of Carlisle in Lewisburg (Bucknell) and I'd love to make the drive next year.
