Falken 452 or Pirelli P Zero Nero M+S

I just purchased some BBS CH 18s...and I'm looking for a 235/40/18 tire.

I've narrowed it down to these two:

Falken 452 vs Pirelli P Zero Nero M+S

It would be nice to compare the two on Tirerack.com, but they don't sell the Falkens, so i've been searching the forums on feedback with the Falken 452 and comparing that opinion to Tireracks on the Pirellis.

I'm looking to purchase in the next day, so your response is appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Eh?

It depends on when you will be rolling on those tires.

If you will only run them in summer, Falken 452's, hands down! Pirelli P-Zero Nero All-seasons are nice too, but those Falkens will out-perform (for the lack of vocab) the Pirellis in terms of dry/wet traction in summer.

If you will use the tires all year round, the Pirellis are a good choice. Their traction in snow is just OK. There are other better all-season tires though. Read the reviews on Tire Rack. They will give you a rough idea as to what best suits your need.

My main concern is a quite ride, treadware,(ie how long they last) and great dry/wet traction.

I'll be running separate tires for winter.

    Falken is your recommendation then?

Generally, summer tires don't last as long as all-seasons, but in the case of P-Zero Nero's they are not one of those all-season tires that are known to last despite its 400 treadwear rating. Falken 452's last a tad longer than most summer tires of the same performance category. To give you an idea, you can usually get 20K out of summer tires.

There is always a compromise when it comes to quietness, traction, and treadwear. The higher the treadwear rating, the less traction you have in dry. Summer tires offer plenty of traction, but they aren't as quiet as all-seasons. So it is up to you to decide what values the most to you.

And yes, Falkens get my nod!
