I live in charlotte NC and have seen this on a few B7's and was wondering what you guys think of it. Does anyone have this done, and would it be hard to do it yourself?

    Re: Tinting tail lights

im actually doing mine this week on my 08' ibis white s-line titanium. it's pretty easy to do. they have precut-kits available for our cars at www.headlightarmor.com to make it easier. its not that hard, all you need is a hairdryer to soften up the vinyl film, a squeege, and a soapy/water solution in a spray bottle. theres some DIY on the headlight armor site actually.

    Re: Tinting tail lights

I think its cool if you have a fairly unique car. I've seen it done on some cars that are 100% stock and it looks cheesy... Like all you could afford was $50 lamin-x.

So... just be discrete about it. If it doesn't match the theme of your car, then don't do it. If you have a Ti S-line however, it usually looks great!

    Re: Tinting tail lights

I think it looks great, but it should be paired with tinted windows at least. Red cars really need tinted tails IMO.

Here is my car, brilliant black with "gun smoked" Lamin-X

    Re: Tinting tail lights

My wife got me the Ebay ones for Xmas. I like em and the good thing is after a while if you want a change you can simply peel them off.

IMO much easier to remove the lights to apply.

    Re: Tinting tail lights

Dont. Tinting tail lights is not classy....

In my opinion, tinting tail lights gives you a cheaper look. Those kind of mods should be for pimping your ride.

    Re: Tinting tail lights

To each their own I guess, I think bright red reflector looking taillights looks bad. Too dark is too dark, but I really like a light shade of tint.

I think the light smoke looks good, but being in NY, I'm hesitant to put anything on my tails.
