Anyone running a Spec Stg 3+?

Not the regular Stg 3, but the 3+

Please don't post saying Spec is garbage, I'm well aware of issues people have had in the past - just wondering if anyone's running the 3+.

    no no, that's ok.

I just don't want people comming in here and saying "SPEC SUCKS!!" because they heard other people say it (that's what would happen if I asked on AW)

Re: Anyone running a Spec Stg 3+?

I have one. After a hell of a time with clutches, I am glad to say it is perfect. It is an older unit, and I have heard the quality has gone down, but mine is great. I went from a stock to an APR, argued with that for almost a year when APR "figured out" what was wrong, and sent me a new disk N plate. When that one sucked not only did APR stop selling them but I needed a new tranny. I put the SPEC in then and never looked back. I have had two more trannys since then and the clutch is still in. I'd say I have a good 50 or 60K on it, so its almost time to swap. I still have the ASSCO flywheel from the APR kit, I sent it to SPEC and they put a new surface on it when I installed the 3+.

Cool, just to make sure, it's the full-face 3+, right? Someone on another board said they are running a 6 puck 3+ which doesn't make sense.

    <-- similar to that, right?

the stage 3 is pucked, the 3+ is full faced... the 3 sucks, i had it for a little while before i got pissed at its suckness (didnt hold, engaged like shit) and burned it till it was totally toast... i knew i was putting a new engine, tranny and clutch in lol, and i wanted to KILL that clutch...

now on to the 3+, drove it on a local a4 and its butter and holds awesome
