Hi,
I have a 2008 A4 SE (about a month old). I have an oil tank near where I park (in my garage - its liquid gold). I am the only one who drives my car (at this point) & I noticed that the passenger rear door has a slight paint chip where my door leans against the tank.
I am very careful to gently lean it against the tank & there is a little chip in the edge (where the door meets the tank). My 2003 Passat did the same trick for 5 years in the same spot without ever scuffing the paint (& that door did bounce into the tank).
Whats the deal? Is the paint cheaper these days? I am being more careful with the A4 than i was with the Passat. Should I get some touch up paint & touch it up (as opposed to it rusting)?
Im a little concerned that the paint is going to come flying off with normal door dings (over the years). Right now I am super careful as this is brand new. I am the only one to open that door (my wifes not allowed to drive it yet).
Thanks,
Rich
