    B7 headlamp removal:

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Is there anyway to remove the bixenon headlamp assemblies without taking off the bumper?

Unscrewed one torx bolt on top of the headlamp and loosened one on the inner nasal part of the headlamp.

I was pulling on it to see where else it could be bolted onto but could not see anything.

Can anyone help and give some advice? Never took the front bumper off any car and not sure how if I did it if I would mess it up.

You will want to take off the bumper. It is possible to loosen the nuts of the bumper enough to move it out and then wiggle and squeeze the housings out. But if you are already in there loosening the nuts you might as well go all the way and take them off. It's not that hard to take the bumper off.

    Re: B7 headlamp removal:

you cannot remove it without causing damage to the bumper. best advise is remove the bumper.

There are to torx screws on eachside of the headlight (one close to the grill and the other close to the fender) look throught the holes with a flashligth.

    Re: B7 headlamp removal:

You have to remove the bumper... you don't have to slide it all the way off, but you still have to take out all the bolts required to remove the bumper so you might as well.

It's not bad at all, the only "hard" part is getting the two nuts on the back side off, because you have to remove the front wheels and peel back the fenderliner.
    Ignorance is bliss.
