Hello - First Post, many questions!

Hi guys. I'm new here and coming over from the VW side. I've been eyeing the B7 S-Line's for a while and was planning on purchasing a used one within the next year. Then, this Summer of Audi event almost made it dumb to do anything but lease/purchase new. My current car is over a decade old, so I can't wait to get into something built this century. All that I'm looking for is Ibis white, 5 spoke wheels, Sirius capability, and bi-xenons.

Something just like this (stolen from a current poster here, sorry!):

Pricing one out online the Sirius is only available with the Bose system. I'm half way ok with the $1000 tag on that, considering I'm tired of the headaches involved in upgrading a sound system and losing interior clips and rattles down the road. Is the Bose system at least decent?

What I'm not really ok with is the convenience package for $2100. All of those little things it comes with I'm sure are nice to have, but, I have no garage door to open and the rest things seem like gimmicks. Are there bi-xenon kits out there that aren't too difficult to install that would save me that $2100?

Thanks in advance, and hopefully, God willing, I will be able to grace the boards with some pictures of my own.

    And the B7 that made consider a B7 over a B6....

Nice man, that'll be quite an upgrade.

You can buy/import OEM bixenons (PM lowestA4 aka Jens) for about $600-$800 and if you're not willing to do the install yourself, it'll cost an additional $200-$300 for labor. However, you will not be able to get the adaptive or auto-leveling features.

I personally think the convenience package is worth it... you're only saving about $800, give or take, by retrofitting the BiXenons (and you still lose adaptive and auto-leveling features), and you get SO much... including power passenger seating, auto-wipers, auto-dimming mirrors (shouldn't this be STANARD?)... basically alot of the things that puts the luxury in a luxury car.

It sure will be! The only thing is convincing the lady that I won't molest it. I think she's gotten tired of my cars in the past that start out great, and over the years just are a little bit too loud, bumpy and squeaky. I figure with this car I can sneak in a some tint, springs, and a chip without too much nagging ;)

Audi's current deals just seem too good to pass up. I just can't fathom that cost for just a set of xenon's. I guess coming from a beater, I'm not quite as picky so long as the car is solid and has what I 'need'.

What about the Bose? Pretty good system?

if you're not an audiophile, it'll do. if you're used to hifi top-of-the-line sound systems, almost no stock sound system will cut it for you.

for what it's worth, the RNS-e (navigation) headunit seems to pump out better sound than the Symphony II+ system (MP3-CD with the red display).

yeah, i'm sure you can find some great deals... especially with the impending release of the b8 this fall.

as long as you get the s-line, getting a tint and lowering it on springs or coilovers should be enough for it to look GREAT good luck stopping there though.. one mod leads to another.

just so you are aware, the first white A4 you posted is an S-line model (they come with the 5-spoke "RS6" style wheels that you like)

the second is non-Sline. if you're purchasing new, they all come with the S-Line exterior, so that shouldn't be an issue

    Dude...

Winners eat pho and chicken adobo.

Welcome to AZ and good luck with your quest. Get the S-line, bi-xenons. Don't care too much for anything else. Audi symphony is pretty decent.

And if you're going to heavily mod your car, just get the very base S-line.

go with the pkg...you will enjoy the car even more. Are you getting the 2.0T or the 3.2?

If you're doing c/o's, I hear the STaSIS Ohlins SLs are amazing!
