Ok guys, so you all know I got rid of the 034 blah blah..
I've been up at school trying to graduate (graduation is tomorrow.. i just found out I'll be there another year

Anyway, when I can make it home I try to get some work done on the car, but with the amount I've had to do and the mess it truly is, it's not easy to stay motivated. OK, done with the rant.

I've been putting in the replacement wiring harness I got, but I took out the old one about 2 months ago and have no diagram of what plugs go where.. My engine bay is a mess and my garage has terrible lighting, so here's the 3 plugs I have less. Anyone who can tell me where to put them will be able to take it for a ride when it's done!

these two are closer to intake manifold

this little whore is near the top of my downpipe when using all the slack.

and... the picture that makes it look like i'm completely moving backwards and just making things worse...

    before

    currently..

any help would be appreciated guys. just waiting on a stock 3-bar fpr, a return fuel line, new IC piping and fixing the ridiculous coolant leak I have.

oil pressure and oil temp. the one with boot is the pressure-bigger sender. other one is the small to the oil temp. on top of the oil filter flange

Re: Some progress... need help though!

thanks guys.. I just went to check it out for a bit. I found the one on the upper side, pointing to the firewall from the oil filter flange, looks like it's for the female-connector with the boot on it.. Fits perfectly and the boot wraps around the end. I couldn't see another part where the black connector would fit but I'll look harder.. It's in such a bad spot.

Still have no idea where this white connector goes but I'll continue my search. Off to get a fuel line and maybe I can start the car today and bring it somewhere tomorrow for new piping.
    Thanks again

Re: Some progress... need help though!

the black one goes to the little brass sticky out pin thing on the oil pump housing, its the temp sender for the oil. And as stated i think the white one goes to your starter motor solenoid

damn i'm blind, didn't see the bottom picture. yah that goes to the+50 (i think) on the solenoid. there are 2 spades on the solenoid. the one on the left if you're looking from the front to the back of the car.

hey bern, i just got mine together (again) today, its the best feeling lol... you dont have the nervousness of your first time but the excitements still there...

    1) and 2) go on the oil filter flange, ones temp and ones pressure

    3) is the starter solenoid

Re: Some progress... need help though!

haha, ok, so that's out of the question.. I don't even know of a track near connecticut, just Limerock, which is 10x more fun than the 1/4mile anyday.. englishtown is the only decent track I know of, unless maybe there's a good one in Mass somewhere. I'll check it out.

In the mean time, I must be retarded.. I can't find the second male-end on the oil filter housing.. All I see is the one at the top, pointing towards the firewall.. Anyone have a pic? I hate plugging in wires haha, give me a turbo to put on and I'm really happy.. This is just tedious

theres one facing towards the firewall off the back of the oil filter flange, the other one points up and a tad towards the front of the car and is also on the oil filter flange

does the white clip run off the section of harness that has the power cable from the alternator? that just plugs into the back of the starter.

Why did you change fuel rails?

Bern I have the bumpers off the car getting painted and I'm installing a new fmic. Also only running 20 psi until I get a new fuel pump. Should be running maybe in 2 weeks. We gotta meet up!

Re: Some progress... need help though!

Poopie, The white connector is a single wire that stems off from the main bundle where it's still pretty thick. I'll take some better pics tomorrow if I don't find its home. I changed fuel rails because there are people running around making tons of power and using 1000cc injectors (the old tapp car etc...) and it does just fine. My setup was nice but it needed lines all the way to the tank to be done properly, it was pointless. I no longer needed an fpr with the new software and it was nice to make some money back considering how much I've dumped into repairs etc.. Not to mention, the dude who bought my 034 also got the rail, lines, injectors, harness, so it was a good package deal for the right price. I just wanted a simple clean setup again.
I went right back to the garage after jake described where the other connector went on the oil filter flange, but if you had described it that way before I would have been set lol. Everything's so dirty down there it's hard to even see half of it :(

Adam, I have no idea what Edgewater is and if it's on LI or somewhere close, I don't go because 1) my car is never working and 2) I'm in Hartford for most of the year, and sadly going back up there on Wednesday til June 27th for summer-term.

Jake, I'm happy my vids motivated you to put your pops behind the wheel of a BAT a4.. Now if only I had a car that wasn't 11 years old with 130k on the chassis and motor (pistons/rings) I'd be pretty happy.

I'll give you guys an update and possibly a running video tomorrow.. If all checks out well I'll take some more pull-vids as well.

    -Bern
