Lost in the D.I.Y.s. Please Help.

I am looking for the DIY and part number I saw a long time ago. It was concerning a sensor off a TT turbo put on our cars for sensing heat of the turbos/oil( I am not sure which on and dont want to be wrong). It functioned I believe as a turbo timer of some sort. I am sorry if I am mis informed on something. If you could clear it up and I can get educated on it that would be nice as well. Thank you for the help.

The only sensor that would come close to that description is the green coolant temp sensor:

The original coolant sensor was black and Audi revised it at some point. Currently, if you enter a dealership parts counter and ask for the coolant sensor, they'll give you the green one shown above. It should be 059 919 501.

There is also the after-run coolant pump that will flow coolant through the turbos for up to 10mins after the car is shut off if the oil temp is high enough. This is sensed by a blue oil temp sensor on the front of the motor. It has always been blue though.

When Audi revised it was the temp brought down from the factory on on the S4's?
BTW Thank you for explaining that.

I don't have any TSBs that cover the revision of the engine coolant temp sensor. The only thing that I do know for sure is that the old version was black and was known to be faulty. Audi revised it at some point and then sent letters to S4 owners advising of the revised part.

I received a letter from AoA just a couple months ago telling me that the emmissions coverage on my A6 was extended to 100,000 miles now due to the ECT sensor being known as a faulty part. They will reimburse me for it's replacement if it was already done or will replace it if my car is showing a CEL for it.

The ECT is primarily used to determine which fuel/timing maps to use when the motor is cold. Once the motor is warm, it starts using the O2 sensors for guidance.
