    **URGENT** Coilover Help!! **URGENT**

    Hey guys:

    I'm searching now, so don't flame me, but I've got some questions about Stasis SS install right now. I'm in the middle of it and I'm curious if anyone uses the OEM Plastic Shock Body protector, cause that's a bitch to get on. Also, Lower spring seat....transfered from original shock? If not, you're telling me the spring sits directly on that white disk? Re-using the plastic collar over the bump stop...anyone do that too?

    I've never done shocks before, so far so good, until I got to here. Someone help please!

    thanks!

    No one? I saw a post on AW stating that he cut the original lower spring seat on the fronts and fit it over the shock, seems doable, but won't the spring twist without the seat being locked on something? There's a knob that the seat fits onto on the lower spring perch on the OEM setup.....thus it can't turn.....

    I feel like a knob!

    thanks......but I'm using those instructions as I go and it doesn't say whether to use the existing lower spring perch or not. Maybe I'm a dumbass, but I don't trust a white washer as a spring seat.....

    Re: **URGENT** Coilover Help!! **URGENT**

    I did the SS install in November and don't actually remember if I used the shock protector or not. I did get it on but don't actually remember if I kept it on. Either way it is fine with out. My springs are just sitting on the white discs. I bought a set of used Audi shocks and springs to pull the various parts off that I needed. I shaved the lower seats just to see how it would work. It was a pain and not worth the hassle. Go without and just mount them on to the white discs. I would strongly recommend setting your ride height as best as you can before installing the CO's. It will save you some bloody nuckles. Take your time and enjoy the job. Hope that info helps.

    Ok! Coils are on! I used the disks that were supplied by Stasis and everything seems ok so far. There's a cruise on Sunday so that will be the first test for a long, spirited drive!

    I will post before and afters in another thread once I get the chance to shoot some!

    Thanks guys!

    Schedule an alignment, now.

    I made a mistake of waiting a couple months after my H&R coilovers and my tires were gone. Looks good though.

    Re: **URGENT** Coilover Help!! **URGENT**

    You'll love the discs when you want to make any height adjustments.. That's what those are for. They prevent the binding of the spring digging into the spring perch/seat. Good that you went and dropped them in, I didn't and I don't want to spend a day to get them in now either, haha.

    From the STaSIS web site;
    Ride Height Adjustable

    The UHMW perch bearing makes for easy adjustments by decreasing the friction between the perch and spring.
