looking for a high performance replacement summer tire for an A3. since i drive a lot in wet conditions, what are your recommendations for wet grip tires? would an all season tire be better in this case since tread patterns appear to allow more water to dissipate, or is rubber compound a factor too?

bottom line, need best tire for WET conditions regardless of whether it is rated summer, all season. quiet, and high mileage would be a bonus, but not a requirement. i have a set of conti sportcontact2, but after the first year, they lose their 'gripiness'.

i already have a dedicated set of winter tires, (pirelli wintersport) and they do quite well in the rain.

Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 is the best tire we've tested in wet, but can be fairly noisy as it gets older. We have had good luck with the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Position as well.
