Need some input on wheels again

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I thought that I only had one bent wheel on my car but the dealer called me and said that 3 wheels are bent plus the one in the trunk is no good. The tires on 2 wheels has to be replaced.

I've decided to stick with 19s and narrowed down my choices to the following. I was aiming for the VIP look but I can't seem to get away from the multi-spoke/mesh look (I like them!!). Any input and honest opinions are welcome. Thanks in advance!

    Which wheel to get....

#2 is nice and will look great on the 6, they'll blook bigger and complement the shape of the a6. The reps are too common and look small b/c of the pattern dips dish and spokes not gong to the edge of rims. They look too busy too.

Can I get the link to that second rim?
    thx

    Here you go Gigi

I wouldn't buy the wheels from them though. Contact Edwin at Need4Speed motorsports. He told me $1750 shipped with tires mounted/balanced ready to slap on the car. I'm trying to haggle him for a lower price . What you said about the LMs are right, it's common (way to common) but it does look good. That's why I'm torn between the 2 right now.

By the way, FrankA6 wasn't helping much by posting Raderwerk wheels either .

No doubt that they are nice wheels. But I need all 4 wheels not just one with tires Sarcasm aside, I am on a tight budget and with the last minute update from the dealer I need wheels asap. Thanks for your input.

Re: Need some input on wheels again

I Like number one, it is similar with what i decided to go with. On a side note, does anyone know what size an A6 2.7t should successfully fit? The ones I bought are 18x8.5 and they rub against the control arm. I need to get a spacer and don't know where to get them. If anyone knows, I'd appreciate the help. Sorry for any thread hijack, back on topic, I think either wheel would look great. I am very, very particular about what wheels I like and I think you picked out two that would both look great on your car.

I think they are nice wheels with a classic known design. I just think they ahve too many rivets, make the wheel too busy and even smaller.
I don't know any of these brands.

I am looking for a set of rims... what matters tome also is quality of construction? do you know anything on the brands above? who acutaly makes the rims? where are they made? (Europe?) I don;t minf the rim weighing a few more lbs, but i don't want it to bend too easy like reps or Axis... chinese wheels..
Also what are their price? I don't want to spend too much,

Re: Need some input on wheels again

I checked out the site, I like this MMR wheel you posted, price is high for what it is I think and it only comes in 8" wide :( Was hoping for a 8.5 and 35ET.
I also checked need4speed motorsports but they don't post any prices!!
I tihnk that MRR has a perfect design for our car and would look bigger too.

That's why you need to talk to Edwin. They don't have pics posted on the website but he does have them stocked for our cars ready to ship. Like I said before he wanted 1750 shipped. Jlines are nice but I personally wouldn't spend 900+ for a single wheel (I'm not rich like that).

I just like sites that display prices so you have an idea... I hate having to call someone to get prices on various wheels. I wonder how much they weigh?

900+!!! I am out! no way, with my luck I'd bend one right away!!!

I saw a thread and the guy selling the MRR HR2s said that it weighs 50 something pounds including tire. 900+ was actually for the Work wheels. I think the Jlines go for 6 or 700+ for 19s.

Gigi - the Work wheels are made in Japan and are ISO9001 and JWL certified. Cargraphic is a German tuner, and from what I was told by a retailer - the wheels are BBS made and labeled as Cargraphic. JLine wheels is an American company. All 3 wheels listed are forged wheels (@ least the barrel). These were 3 of my other choices before I decided on my RAYS wheels. All 3 wheels weigh within about 25lbs for a 19" wheel.

I think I'm gonna go with the MRRs. Edward at Wagen Wheels gave me a good deal. I"m most likely going to order within the next couple of days. Just waiting a few days to make sure it's not a impulse buy.

19x8 with 45et. I'm in the process of obtaining spacers and extended bolts. All this calculation is making my head explode. 10mm or 15mm spacers, 35mm or 43mm lug bolts, ball shaped or cornial shaped....I think it'll be all worth it in the end though. The wheels that I got are not too common and I think it's an aquired taste. I kinda liked the Mandrus Emils that one of the forum member got bashed on so we'll see what ppl say when I get them.

Hahaha, I'm gonna probably take a early leave just to get them installed if they all arrive by next week. I ordered the wheels but I still have to order tires from one company and try to get spacers and bolts from another. Hopefully they'll all come in by next week. I'll def post pics!

Re: Need some input on wheels again

Well, I got the wheels in today. It's pretty shitty that I'm stuck with wheels that's not going to fit my car though. I'm not gonna name the shop until I get this resolved and I'm sure as hell not gonna spend more money to "bore out" the wheels to make this shit fit. Hopefully we will find a peaceful solution to this problem.

    http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/n...5290813371.jpg

By the way, Jon at ECS Tuning is good to work with. IMO a very honest person. He could of told me to machine the spacers to make it fit like other shops told me but Jon said that would make the spacers weaker and end up breaking.

IDK, but I'm pretty sure they're 19's. You have to call champion motorsports to find out if they'll fit your car.

You think so Andrey? I've been debating that option but I've read not so good things about non hub-centric spacers. I heard that it causes a lot of vibration. Some ppl that had the non hub-centric swithched to hub-centric and that stopped the vibrations. I don't know. If you have personal experience with non HC spacers please let me know your experiences with them.

i have nonHC on the front right now and it feels the same....i used nonHC for a long time now, even on the track. as long as you put them right and more or less center them by yourself it should be ok, it is for universal ones, but if you get non HC spacers for 5x112 then you dont need to worry at all ! :) good luck man

I see. Most of the reputable companies that offer spacers that are 10mm or more only come in HC. I need 10mm front and 12.5 rears. If you can point me to some shops that offer them in non HC I'd really appreciate it. Thanks for your help Andrey!!

    NP :)
Well, i have a guy with machine shop so he does stuff for me, he made HC to non-HC so i can fit more rims, i am not sure if he has website, its a home based small mashine shop. Try to find machine shop which will cut the spacer that you have to your specs and make them non-HC.

Re: Need some input on wheels again

I've been lazy but I got a chance to wash my car today and put on my rear spacers. I also had a lot of fitment issues with them. For a while I had 12.5mm spacers in the front and none on the back. It was staggered backwards for a while . Anyways, the wheels need some getting used to for those that prefer mesh or others but it really grew on me. I know some of you guys are gonna hate it but oh well....IT'S MY CAR!!

Thanks Andrey. I'm already on Eibachs right now. For some reason when I had the multi spoke it looked more dropped than it is now. Look below for comparison.

    Old wheels:

    New Whels:

Also I have 8mm spacers on front and 12.5mm rear. The old wheels had a offset of 35mm all around but this one is at 32.5mm rear (45mm wheels and 12.5mm spacers) and 37mm fronts. By the way thanks for the advices on the non-HC spacers .
