overheating problem pissing me off.

water pump and fan work. temps starting to go a notch or two up from mid. oil temps at 225 F. checked the inside the coolant reservoir with a smog machine and it says that theres i think it was 14 ppm of hydrocarbon not too sure it was a while back. and i was told it MIGHT be a headgasket. any other ideas?

its a 96 v6 12v quattro

Head gasket. Any CO is essentially a leak, and yours looks bigger than tiny.

so umm now that we got that straight. anyone got a DIY for the V6 head removal? ill probably need just torque specs and the order to tighten everything but yeah. a DIY would be good to use. havent found one yet.

ok search tool is getting me nowhere with a V6 headgasket DIY. this is frustrating. i barely have enough money to buy the headgasket set after buying 4 new tires. being jobless sucks!!!
