Fwd spring options

Did some searching, it doesnt seem like there have been very many good answers to how to deal with spring options for fwd a4's. I am running h and r sports now but would like the look of say the h and r race on the quattro. What choices are there since as awe sells it the race cup kit or w/e is only available for quattro. Could I run run springs from this, is there spring rate problems, weight difference problems?
I am running bilstein shocks as well, came with the car along with the sport springs when i got it.

I think you have one of the better options (its what I have now)

do you want the front and rear lower? or just the front?

Just trying to improve on this. Its not bad but id love to be lower and go with some hartmann dtm's before i go back to school for fall classes. Front and rear i presume, it needs to be stiffer for sure, the springs are soft now and i dont scrape but on the small bumps it drops hard on the plastic bumps, and thats annoying.

silly question but how old are the shocks?

do you have the receipt for them? can you get it or fake it? cause if you can bilstein will warrenty your shocks which would improve the ride stiffness more than you might think if your shocks are worn which you're leading me to think they are, as far as springs get a set of h+r races and stick them on

I do not have a receipt for them. I guess they could be gettting kind of old now.
As far as coilovers, send me some this way, haha, no id love to have some, do i have 1200 dollars, no. So if i can spend a couple of hundred on springs, get what i want ill be happy.
As far as the h and r race, they only make them for the quattro, how will those sit for my car? Any complications i would have to deal with?

if they only make quattro h+r race springs the front will work, the backs won't

if you wanted to make your fronts lower I was gonna suggest the ecs coilover sleave kit but it won't do much for the back, you could diy grove your rears to drop the perch lower

if you're gonna do that I'd get them warrentied and do it to the new set if at all possible

you could always go with used coils, theres a guy here in nj selling a set of used coils pretty cheap for the fwds that felt nice when I got a ride in his car some time ago

groove? is taht the same as cutting the spring, wont that cause that bumpy ride and improver spring rates?

no, its grooving the shock itself

basicaly, the spring sits on the shock perch, the shock perch sits on a c clip thats inserted in a groove in the shock body

if you create a new groove 1" lower than the factory groove the car will sit 1" lower

the spring rate will remain unaffected

if you like the way the car rides now its okay, if you want a stiffer ride it won't help you much

cutting the groove most likely would be a warrenty voiding procedure so I'd get the shocks warrentied then do it, also you'd want to be fairly precise about doing it (think machine shop and a lathe)

Found that Tein supplies some lowering springs.

more on this i have a friend who is looking for springs on a fwd a4 but neither him or me have an idea. on the brands and specs.

h+r sports have done me just fine these past 30k

Springs: Tein may be the best bet. Most drop that I have found.

I say just get some Eibach Coilovers. Not going to be slammed from springs.
