    Hey Everyone,
I was thinking about going with the Forge 004 BOV I have done alot of research on multiple forums and have come to the conclusion that If I run this valve, I should not run into any problems with CEL's which was my primary concern in the first place. My question to everybody is why on ECS Tuning do they not advertise the Forge 004 in the Audi A4 B6 section? I found it in the Mark IV GTI 1.8T section. I also found it interesting that the B6 A4 was not on their applications chart. Will the install kit that comes with it off of ECS for the GTI 1.8T also work for the B6 A4 1.8T? Thank you all in advance for all of your help

    Re: Forge 004

^ yea ik its because i have a spring in it from a BT setup and its letting off too much boost and making hella lot of back pressure so a temp fix of unplugged MAF is just the trick and yea ik it gives me a CEL but i already have 1 from my TP so its all good haha

    a what?

    explain?

    edit nevermind i found it....

    what about a Forge Splitter?

I like the R1 but it doesnt have enough sound...should i get an intake first or go with a splitter or 004 and just use the R1 when i'm worried about performance?

    Re: Forge 004

^^^ A DV recircs spent air back to the turbo inlet pipe. A BOV like the 004 sends it out in to the atmosphere. So, since you aren't using the hose connected back to the TIP when you use the 004, you need to plug it. Hence, the 1" plug.
And don't buy in to the "R1 for performance" hype. I'd bet cash no one but a computer notices the minute difference of a diaphram valve over a spring/piston one.

i know...found that out via some research....any input for my other question?

    Re: Forge 004

I don't know anything about the splitter, but Forge products are good and bullet-proof, so I guess it would work well. Theory being that you can control some air to recirc back. My only thought is that if someone wants that BOV woosh between shifts, they'll end up setting the splitter to full blow-off anyhow, so might as well go with 004.
For me, I switched to the 007. Still makes noise enough to hear it, but isn't loud enough for every high school kid within a mile to come running with that stupid "He's got a mad turbo, yo" grin on their face.
The R1 is just hype IMHO. And I'm an APR fanboi. They could never sucker me in and with all the problems the things have had, I'm glad I didn't fall for it.
I'd bet the same car as me with an R1 is not pulling any faster times than mine with a forge. And forges don't moo..

Mine doesn't moo....i just got the freshest batch of them (now that they are built out of house) and I've had no problems with it...the sound is actually really good...just quiet w/ stock airbox..

and APR stands behind their products...and I'm good friends with 3 people that work at APR in auburn...and i'm a short drive away so APR works out best for me...

Yeah I guess I'll just go with the 004 if i can find one!

They stand behind them so they won't get hit by all the stuff people throw at them, lol.
I've never had a problem with APR, but many on this forum have.
Needless to say, if you have a broken part, they generally require you to send it back at your expense until they send you out a new/fixed one.
That means down time for your car.
Luckily I've not had anything break. But there is no shortage of people on the forums bashing APR's version of "standing behind their products".

    Re: Forge 004

yeah lets take all that charged air from the turbo and blow it back into the atmosphere instead of recirculating it back into the turbo to get quicker spool and make MORE POWER. BOV's are a complete waste of money on this car. Get a DV and be done with it.
