    what do I line up on my crank sproket/pulley to make sure the timing is on before I put on my timing belt? Need a quick response, Im sitting in my garage right now...TIA

    Before I took the belt off I put a screwdriver across the sprocket and block and made my own mark. If you just took the belt off and didn't touch it, it shouldn't be a problem, it takes some force to turn the thing. As long as you took the belt off at TDC it should remain at TDC.

    I had my head and block completely built so its not where it was. I think I may have found something on my Bentley that will help. but if anyone else (Onemoremile) knows, please chime in

    you could use the TCD mark on your timing belt cover and the mark on your vibration dampner. I just put the crank at TDC before I put the head on though.

    I plan on using that mark, I wish I thought of putting it to TDC before I mounted the head, I just made sire the head was so no valves would jam, but I didnt think about the block.

    Thats the only mark that indicates TDC which is visible from the front of the engine.
