    fornt bumper install question

    im getting a caractere front bumper and i read something on here that you should remove the headlights, do you have to remove the headlights or is it just easier that way?

    The two screws on the bottom/back of the headlights screw into part of the bumper assembly... we took them off when we removed my bumber to do the timing belt... you could remove the screws all together but they are in tight spots and you could lose them in the process.. or end up breaking a top tab on the headlight... IIRC

    No, you do not need to remove the headlights to remove the front bumper.

    The post above is a bit confusing, since you must remove the headlight if you a removing teh radiator support, which you are not.

    BUT! It will be way easier to remove the six (three on each side) hex nuts, by accessing them through the headlights (versus removing the front wheels and then the wheel liners)

    That is why you remove the headlights. So much easier to get to those bumper-fender nuts.


    It takes not even 5mins to take the headlights out. I remove them pretty much anytime I'm working (if I need the extra room). Esp on the passenger side..

    yea remove the headlights. i did on both my cars when putting on my intercooler. so much easier. if youve got a air rachet it makes it even easier. if you need help, im right around the corner so if im not busy when you do this, ide be glad to help a brotha out! haha
