Dads considering an A3 (Engine Upgrade Q's Inside) ***

Hey guys,

So my dad is considering an A3 but the only thing holding him back is the horsepower of one.

My question to you guys is what modifications can be done to the 2.0T to give it a little extra power? I know so far that the chip is available.

Stage 3 by APR. 300 something HP

I am the Dad that's looking:
the 2.0T is only the FWD with tons of torque steer especially when you up the engine output, to get the quattro & HP over 300 I need to get the 3.2: is there a reliable turbo (or supercharger) kit available?
will the bottom end & tranny handle the added HP & torque?

if he wants a 300 hp car look for something else, the a3 FWD isnt really equipped from the factory without throwing down some serious dough. With enough money and mods it could be really really nice. There are alot of 300 hp cars in a similar price range (135i from bmw is a good example)

true the 135 is a great candidate, but I need the cargo space, so until they bring the 135 hatchback the A3 is the better choice... for now

If you need the cargo space and really think the A3 has a lot of torque steer (I don't see it, stage 2 and I can floor it with my hands off the wheel and it goes straight down the road) then take a look at the S4 Avant, more cargo space and faster than the A3 right from the factory.

i agree. stock no torque steer at all.. test drove a 07 with stage 1 no torque steer also

Talk to socalRs4. He's making some serious power in his A3 and I believe it's one of the fastest out right now.

My stage 2 has no torque steer even when flooring it from a slow roll. Yeah it does a "one tire fire" but no torque steer.
