fuel gauge inop???

on tuesday i filled my gas tank at half,and since then i have driven about 50 miles,and the gauge has stayed in the middle...same with my miles to empty mileage,it either satys the dsame or it goes up...anyone plz help!!!

I had this happen to me one time last year. I drove normally and ran through the fuel till empty. When I refilled the tank, all was good, no more issue. The gauge worked correctly. Since I have not seen the issue again, I have not attempted any further analysis on what may have caused it.

probably a sending unit. i need to change mine because it only shows half a tank when its full. its all proportional though.

I had the same problem. I ended up changing the sending units

ok...yeah last night i filled the car up to a full gas tank,and so far i have put 20 miles since thje fill up,and the car went from 380 mi til empty and now its at 370mi til empty but the gauge has not moved at all ima drive it the whole weekend and see what happens...for u guys who replaced the sending unit how much was the cost for both parts & labor???

Last night I filled up to a full tank. Everything was fine for an hour but when I started my car back up the gauge showed empty and my gas light was on. How much would it cost to fix this? What's the problem?
