Anyone ever buy wheels from WheelsAndCaps.com?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Im in the market for 19" Rs4 reps and wheelsandcaps.com has a set for $659 shipped on their eBay store and a few bucks more on their site, which is $600 cheaper than Hartmann and about $300 cheaper than VMR.

They list them as being made in Italy, but the width is a 1/2 thiner (19x8) than the Italian made Hartmanns.

I came up with limited info when i search the forums for the company name, so Im trying to find out if anyone as any personal experience with them or has heard anything about the quality of the wheels.

    Thanks for your input.

Arent the VMR resp made in Asia somewhere too?

To be honest, I dont really care where they are made, as long as they dont lack in quality/durability compared to other reps, and they have the same look.

    Anyone else with any info?

If you're gonna buy cheap wheels dont be surprised when they crack, bend, or peel so easily. All the reps are sub-par quality.
Save your money until you can afford quality built wheels.

based on the specs, they look like the older style RS4 reps, from Hartmann, 19x8 ET 35..they were the 332 style. And if you look,it has that same number part of the item # . get them..they're cheap enough to replace if they do crack/bend

Re: Anyone ever buy wheels from WheelsAndCaps.com?

VMR and all their dealers are saying that the finish on this new run of their RS4 reps has been improved and doesn't crack or chip as easily. Im not sure if thats marketing to continue to sell the same product, but if it would be nice if it were true.

To be exact, the reps from wheelsandcaps.com are $241 cheaper than the lowest price Ive seen on VMR reps ($900), and that includes shipping costs. If anyone knows where you can get 19" VMR reps for less than $900 shipped, let me know.

Re: Anyone ever buy wheels from WheelsAndCaps.com?

I've looked at the same wheels. I agree that all of the reps have problems with finish and durability but are probably comparable to lower end cast after market wheels. Unless you can spend some real money on a set of forged wheels theres probably not much of a difference between any set of gravity cast wheels. Regardless of what you buy check the weight of the wheel, the warranty/guarantee, and look for buyer feedback. I believe the WAC place has sold a ton of wheels with a high user satisfaction rating. Remember though that a high level of satisfaction only means that the seller delivered the goods as promised and they looked good at time of purchase. Doesn't mean the buyer felt the same way after a year or two with the wheels. If you go ahead with the purchase be sure to post pics and keep us updated on how the wheels work out. I'm a big fan of the VMR reps only because they are more aggressive looking with a sunken center (not as a flat).

Wrong, there are many many foundries producing B7 RS4 reps around the world, Hartmann sources theirs from Europe (typically Italian) and have used B7 RS4 replica wheels from 4-5 different Italian foundries. VMR wheels are made in Taiwan which cost less than the European wheels to manufacture but offers better quality than the Chinese replicas that you typically see getting dumped on Ebay.

Yeah there are a lot of places carrying the same wheels, it's easy to see how people have a hard time telling whats what.

Re: Anyone ever buy wheels from WheelsAndCaps.com?

There is a wide variance in replica wheel quality, some are made in the exact same plants that make the OEM wheels for Audi, VW and the other German car companies and some are made in China with recycled aluminum with the absolute minimum of quality control.
Buying from a reputable company that has been around a while is one of the best ways to get a quality product, just like any other business.
