Hit or Skip B6 S4

Hi guys I usually don't post on here because I have a C5.

My friend is looking at a used S4 with 45000 miles on it.
The car is in perfect condition. It is Silver with Black Recaro seats.
It is fully loaded other then the RNS-E. It has Bose, Xenon's, XM, and Heated Seats. It is in PERFECT condition. The price is $24,500 +$2200 Tax +$3000 for a 5 year unltd. mile warranty.

The total is $29,700. Is this a good price for this used S4.

I got my 2004, 28k, no nav for 28,5K. Also in excellent condition. Not perfect. got a 4 year, 75k mile warranty for 2,800k more.

Had a tip and a manual. Although always a fan of a manual transmission, have to say the smoothness of the tip makes it a whole other car. I know how to drive high performance manuals too, and could drive it smooth, but it took too much work even with a snub mount. And the mileage of a tip is better, which is always a plus. Highway revs are about 1000 RPM less.

Back to the topic, I am always checking the S4 market and the same car is going for about $3-4K in the New England area fairly regularly. Also have seen a few CPOed B7s going for only a couple thousand more with right around the same mileage.

what year is your friend looking at? I've read that early 04's had some issues. I can say from experience with a 05.5 that everything has been tip top.

Tip Sucks, 6MT FTW!! - Coming from the guy who has a tip:)

Tip is great if you have an S4. Its smoooth and great in traffic which im always in. (drive over the Tappan Zee bridge everyday). Your not that much slower then a 6spd. (proved that at the drag strip. I know tip is not the best for 2.0T. Before I purchased an S4 I had an A4 2.0T and it was a Six speed. When I had a loaner it would always be a Tip and I didnt like it because it felt slower/and the lag. You really dont feel it as much with the S4's because of the Torque in these cars.

(Auditude2.0T) you should just get rid of your car. every post I see you in your always complaining about your Tip. Trade your car in and get a CPO with a Six speed.

I had a Tip S4 and now a 6MT, and there is no comparison. The Tip car was easy to go fast in, but the 6MT is so much more satisfying once you learn how to shift it smoothly. I still have to do the snub mount, but I love my car.
