LED reverse lights

I was wondering if the reverse lights on the B7 could be changed to LED. If so, are resistors needed??

I used to have LED reverse lights in my C5 A6 and no problems or bulb out warnings.

Funny thing is I as recently just exploring my B7 and noticed it does not look DIY friendly. The C5 you just pull the side covers off and you have access.

Anyone, know how to get access to the rear bulbs?

Pull out little tabs on carpet behind where the light is located there is either a screw or nut losen and remove light fixture takes about 30 seconds to remove and reinstall.

You should be able to replace any bulb with an LED bulb now. You may have to add a resistor to compensate for the "bulb-out" warning on the DID.

yeah, i'm not doing any more resistors.... especially since it's soo near the taillights....

cool, i saw the circular cut outs and took a flat head driver. i tried to pop it open. i only opened up half way didn't want to push anymore because it looked like i was going to rip it or something.
