Stupid Question - A3 built in Germany?

Just curious as some VW products are built in Mexico (specificaly the MK IV I believe it was), and other manufactures build cars in US and Canada.

Reason being Duty on importing whether its needed or

Never thought I would say it, but,

'that sucks, it's not built in Mexico'.

I'm just trying to gather everything together for when A3 pricing for 2009 is released, to see how much I can knock off if I were to purchase in Canada vs US. At the end of the day Canada sucks!

If you are looking at a 2009, bare in mind US dealers won't sell it to a Canadian brand new, so you will either have to have someone in America buy the car and then sell it to you, or wait until you can buy a used one.

For now, I think they are moving production to Belgium.

My wife and I saw them being built in ingolstadt when we were there picking up her TT. I wish we had the s3 here those looked realy kewl!
