Visiting Oahu - Where to stay??

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi,

Visiting in August and wondering what hotels are good in the area?
Any crazy construction going on that only locals would know about?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Andy.

Well, the usual waikiki. You can stay at the hilton hawaiian village and if you're a baller you can stay at the kahala mandarin. There's turtle bay on the north shore too

If you saw that movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall, that was at the Turtle Bay. Its close to the North Shore where most of the beaches and surf are.

The Hilton Hawaiian Village and Kahala Mandarin are closer to the city side, or for us locals like to call "Town" side. You would be closer to the Waikiki Strip and various other locations for the night life.

Royal Hawaiian is gonna be under construction during that time. There's always some sort of construction going on in Waikiki and I understand that the temp sewer pipes along the Ala Wai will be removed soon so possible delays in that area.

    Thanks guy!
Definitely not "Baller Status" over here!
    =P
My wife is looking at the AQUA WAIKIKI and the WYLAND WAIKIKI on KUHIO AVE
Ever heard of these 2 hotels??

Looks to be a couple blocks to the beach...
We will most likely have a rental car... is it even worth to spend mad $$ for a hotel near the beach?? What's parking like near the beaches?? Maybe we can just drive over and park near the beach?

I know those hotels, you won't need to drive to the beach unless you are going to Ala Moana Beach Park (across the Ala Moana shopping center). Just ask the front desk at your hotel for any information on things you wanna do and places you'd like to go. They can even recommend places for you and give you maps and details.
