Some parts I picked up for my honda

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Well my S4 when to a new home, and I planned on getting a Honda just as a little daily, but I got word from a friend of mine who's producing a new line of products for suspension I couldn't really pass this stuff up. Pennies on the dollar for the best stuff made.

Every bushing is spherical bearings, packed with grease and covered with dust boots. Not pictured is the other front LCA, roll-center adjusters, and 26mm rear sway. Coilovers have separate high and low speed dampening controls, as well as rebound control on the shock itself, and upper/lower height adjustments (spherical bearings on those too).

He's got custom kevlar buckets too that will be on order for me, and I'll see if I can get him to have small batches made with white or blue inserts, or just full alcantara for the audi crowd.

Just to set things straight, you had the K swapped one and did the full body restoration, etc, right?

Good shit man. What engine are you planning on running? I have an Exedy stage 1 clutch and ACT streetlite fw for b series if youre interested...BNIB and will let go for dirt cheap(shameless plug lol).

That thing is gonna handle like its on rails, but its gonna be harsh as hell on the street. I had my progress spherical bearing kit for like 4 months before taking it off. My kidneys approved of the decision lol. I love the S4, but ill never get rid of my Honda...unless its for another Honda lol

Actually the ride quality will be really smooth, thanks to the low/high speed dampening controls, just very minimal body roll.

I've got a B16 sleeved and bored to a 1.7 that I'm picking up off my friend. I think he has everything except injectors, but if not, I'll let get back to you. I'm getting a custom turbo kit from AFI and I'm gonna be running an air-to-water intercooler with a separate heat exchanger. Should be good for around 400whp on pump with a decent tune and low boost.

Re: Some parts I picked up for my honda

what are the springrates on these coilovers ChriS4?

i had 18k in my last EJ1 and it wasnt bad at all as far as harshness

i mean it wasnt luxury but it was bearable.

and i had nonreclinable buddy clubs as well.

Also.. what brand are these.. they look very quailty the only issue i can see happening.. and i could almost bet money on this.. those UCA's (camber kit) have some big bolts on them.. they WILL hit the shock tower at anything more than a 1.5 - 2 inch drop.. beleive me.. i had Skunk2s and even without the bolts on the top they hit the shock towers on my beater hatch..(which wasnt even tucking tire) which isnt very low.

thats the only Gripe i have with any honda camber kit (UCA's) because after spending 5k on paint on the last EJ1.. it kinda pisses you off only to have a hole punched thorugh the shock tower by a Omni UCA.. and that car was not low at all.. only about a 1.5 inch drop..

Either a poor stab at us "ricers" or a compliment that we actually study specs of the products we use, rather than just how much horsepower the car makes.

You had 18k springs on a Honda? Good lord those are some stiff springs. I had the omni drag rears on the black crx and they beat me to death at only 12k...and thats an insanely high spring rate for the rear. I cant imagine what 18k would be like.

Chris-Low/High speed dampening controls will only do so much to soften the harshness from those spherical bearings. It will definitely help, but i dont think youll be able to classify it as smooth. Hondas arent supposed to be smooth anyway, so its all good lol

I didn't trade it for anything. I sold it. For what I paid on it, I wasn't getting near the performance I wanted, and I've been jaded since 3 weeks after I bought the car and had to replace the turbos. I wanted just a daily driver that didn't get 21mpg at 65 on the freeway, and one that I didn't have to worry about starting up in the morning. Unlike a lot of people on here, I have a budget, and I like to live within my means, and and Audi wasn't the best decision for me right now. But now that I've already gone in a different direction with Honda, I figure why not have a reliable car for half the cost that will walk all over 95% of the cars on the road? Besides, my last civic, albeit slower, was just a lot more fun to drive than my S4. I'll live without leather and other annoyances of German engineering.

LOL i feel ya man. This definitely isnt a car for someone on a budget. I finally got out of the low budget phase and its still kicking my ass.

I agree with the s4 not being as fun of a car to drive as a modded Honda. You just feel connected with the road in a honda...all that sorta disappears in the s4. I can throw the crx into corners and feel completely within by bounds...not so much in the nose heavy pig of an s4. Then again i am comparing a honda that saw tons of time at VIR to a basically stock audi lol

With that said...i still love the s4!
